Un-Commanded Ship/Character movement

So, this issue just started recently. I will list the problems and then will list what I have done to fix it.

The issue is that, with in the last 3 weeks, I have started loosing control of my ship/character while playing the game. All of it is un-commanded movement that at times can't be stopped. I use the arrow keys for moment typically, but the issue of commands isn't limited to just those.

I have 3 examples, all on video, to show and they are:
un-commanded straight up on Risa Floater : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1vvIO7aDBThkOwB7gRLBsSDFJ9MOdpYm4/view?usp=sharing
During this incident I was using Ctrl key to ascend to get over a building and I let go and it didn't stop ascending. I tried to get out of it prior to starting the camera, and then you can hear me hit the button a few more times before it finally stopped.

un-commanded running: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1vurZB8GkgEcZUz_Etfzzhbw43kEoBn-4/view?usp=sharing
I was just running trying to not use my floater to see if that was the issue, and then it wouldn't stop running. as you can see it just goes and goes all un-commanded.

Ship in un-commanded nose up, then while trying to play goes into un-commanded left turn: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wSMgJo4vjCvIX-kSzA-0ApFxZ_9JzBtC/view?usp=sharing
I was just trying to play the Borg Red Alert mission, didn't even get to fire 1 shot. First started off, with out touching ANY button at all, went into a un-commanded nose up. I started recording and then had to fight to get it to stop, then while trying to fly to a Borg cube got stuck in an un-commanded left turn that I had to fight to break out of.

So those are just 3 of the many issues I have been able to collect on video. Again, these all started with in last few weeks, had Zero issues before.

So actions taken to stop issues:
1. I have tried a new keyboard and mouse - no effect still same issues
2. I have "Force verify" the files using the game client - no issues detected all files found to be intact
3. I have tried other missions to see if it was mission specific - it is not, will occur at anytime randomly
4. Reinstalled game - no effect still same issues
5. Contacted technical support their response --> (Private correspondence removed. - BMR)

So needless to say, no one seems to have any idea's what is up. Granted I don't play this game all the time, but I have never had an issue when Id o play it, it has always been enjoyable to play, until now.

Any idea's would be helpful. Thank you.

The video's aren't viewable without access, so I don't know how helpful I can be but the behaviour you describe might come from having a joystick or gamepad attached and something is resting on it, pushing the button(s) and/or sticks.

This should be fixed. Please advised if not.

Have you tried resetting all your settings to default in the options menu?

"Shift + R" toggle auto-run and a key tap forward or backward will cancel it.

I have this exact same issue, the game has basically been unplayable since about 7/18 because the movement has been sticking and the game client has also been intermittently ignoring movement button presses. It's like the game client stops responding to input every few seconds and if you're holding down a key and let go during the hiccup, it acts like the key is still being pressed and the client doesn't poll the current key press state. If I hit the stuck movement key again, it gets unstuck. Oddly, this same problem is happening in Neverwinter as well, which uses the same game engine.

I don't have this problem in any other game. I don't have controllers connected. I've tried multiple keyboards. I tried installing a new separate STO installation through Steam and have the issue there as well. I don't get any game stuttering at all and keep a consistent fps of about 130. I have a constant network ping of 32.

The only thing I did notice is when doing /fpsgraph 1, the graph starts low and progressively increases to a solid wall of red. I don't know if this means anything, since I don't really know how to read the graph.

I've tried working with support through a ticket over the last couple of weeks and they haven't been able to help. My guess is there was a client update 7/17 or 7/18, and it introduced a bug for certain hardware combinations.

Yes I did, no change to issue.

I didn't even know about auto run, as I have never used it ever in my entire time playing the game. Didn't even know that was an option.

I don't have a joystick or gamepad. I am old fashion keyboard and mouse. Yes I changed out my mouse and keyboard to see if it was just from wear and tear, no changes.

Thank you for being better at explaining the issue. Yes it is as if it isn't polling the keys current state and you have to re-tap it to get it to change. Though I am having an issue where even multiple re-taps don't get it to clear. Not sure if you have this issue as well. I only play STO using this engine.
