Snake Dance text being caught by Profanity filter?

hunterbahamuthunterbahamut Member Posts: 23 Arc User
I'm putting this here as a bug report, unless there is another reason for this, but:

I have my profanity filter on for the STO chat, and for the past several years, whenever you do the snake dance and get the extra text of "Ssssss!", it showed up fine.
However, now, it's being caught by the profanity filter and you're given the garbled text.

I'm not sure if this was intentional or not, it just struck me as weird when everyone started doing that.

I am also here to report about the malfunction of the profanity filter and would have reported it sooner if I had not been so doggone tired the last few days and not wanting to look at a screen after awhile.

    Map: Risa Summer Resort
Bug: Participate in Dance Party. When female Dance Instructor announces do the snake and player does the emote Dance (Snake) look in the chat window, and you will see what looks like the player is cursing up a storm when they are not. Under the censored words, it says that the player character is doing the snake dance. This behavior does not happen with any of the other emotes and never happened before during the Summer Event until now.

I captured two screenshots: one about that bug and another about a different one, all involving the female Dance Instructor. The first screenshot shows the Dance Instructor announcing: "Dance party starts in half a minute! Get out on the dance floor! It is using the old voiceover for developer ZeroniusRex instead of the new VO for the female Dance Instructor. It was difficult to capture the second one which this thread is about since the chat moves very quickly when people type into it.

P.S. I do not like the new Dance Instructor's VO it lacks the excitement of Zero and clashes with the whole point of being a Dance Party plus her voice is flat as opposed to the previous voiceover, who had a passion for being a female dance instructor. Another thing is if you guys removed the male Dance Instructor please put him back in along with his old voiceover. Thanks. :)

I did Dance Party last night and this bug still exists.
