Star Trek Fleet Command has an idea that might just work for Zen

Yes its Star Trek not similar in the slightest in gameplay but it has got me thinking of STO's current Zen/Dilithium debate. They have there store paid currency although not tradeable but attainable in game Via a very specific ship called the Dvor, In that game you need a specific ship classified as a mining ship, in order to (Harvest) said store currency which is no doubt Latinum. Forgive me for saying but if this game had a specific class ships for mining Zen at a capped rate of w/e is deemed reasonable by the developers and ip. I would be balls to the walls looking for space nodes to harvest LOL! I do realize that this game has Omega Nodes, but frankly I think those nodes are far too common for a Zen node. the Way I See Zen nodes is Deep Space exploration type of area, perhaps a specific zone story arc? anyhow I for one would not want to see these in any zone but rather a zone that makes you "Sweat" to get to. gated and grindy. as well as risky to attempt to mine. Whether I need to pay for the actual mining ship for Zen or its content unlock specifically behind a story arc. I would do it. just some ideas. Some feed back would be great, Thanks!!

EDIT: like give me hoops, give me zen nodes and concentrated zen nodes, make me grind the ship and gear for it to mine, make me grind the crew to mine. I really want to earn something in a game that makes a game worth the time investment to grind. Not a job, Just I want to Earn the ability to Do it.

Second Edit: Heh Last point, I would give up my lifetime 500 Zen a month to be put on the start mission, to earn a ship to mine the 500 Zen a month LOL!!!!

I don't think the idea of even more grind would appeal to the majority of the player base.

hard pass for me. Also this will never work as you're just trading one grind for another and one type of currency problem for another.

Yea hard pass. We got enough grind with the events. Don't need grind for the sake of grind of grind just to get Zen.

I am not in favor of this idea. Just because another game does it, does not necessarily make it a good idea for STO.
