Can't Promote Characters on Same Account in Fleet

I was able to cobble together 5 people to make a fleet the other day. I'm the fleet leader.

I invited my other characters into this fleet. That was no issue.

I tried to promote my other characters to Fleet Leader, though, and I couldn't. The message that popped up stated, "Error promoting in fleet: You cannot promote yourself."

This isn't a problem on PC, where characters seem to be treated as separate entities even from the same account. PS4 seems to treat characters as a single entity: the PSN account from which they originate.

EDIT: If needed, I can make a video and provide a YouTube link to a developer in private messages.

A long-standing issue that has plagued Consoles since launch and has been reported several times.
Alas, there hasn't been a fix yet and I suspect we'll not get one either.

Also, due to the account linking, other fleet members can only have their alts in the fleet promoted if that particular character is online.

I had to create a separate PS account, to create a new toon & promote him to rank-up status... just to promote my alts in MY own fleet. Ridiculous.

I did this too, but it didn't work for me.
