Yep, it's that time of year again, beginning on April... uh, 5st? Yes, I admit the typo thoroughly distracted me from the actual point of the announcement.

Can't say I care for the reward this time, but I'll certainly do it for the dil. I'm very gradually building up to buying a Trailblazer (finally, an Intrepid variant that a tac-focused skipper like me can handle!). And hey, the model rocket stuff is fun in its own right, which is more than I can say for a lot of STO's events. ...Even if I'm going to be worn out for the first week of it, since it overlaps with the end of the current Event Campaign section.

Be my first combat pet and my Dil Hadar can get a top up, along with the bonus from the anniversary event. He'll be sticking around for a while it seems.

Does anyone remember the old days, when events didn't overlap, and they sometimes even let you have a week off from the event grind in between to recharge - before the dark times, before 'the metrics'...

I didn’t find anything written about the species-specific badges. They should be available with more uniforms and outfits. I think the developers sort of forgot about them.

I think they made all the badges they had designed.

A: That is for you to decide, and as this would be an account unlock, optional.
B: Unlikely. Last I heard CBS still had the Veto over Playable Androids. Besides traits and a couple cosmetics, there's nothing to differentiate them from Alien.

I don't think even the NPC Cardassians have that. And if I recall in canon, they never really wore a badge unless they held the rank of Legate. Don't remember Gul Dukat wearing a badge. Either way I can try passing the suggestion along for consideration.

I do enjoy building the rockets. It's relaxing to do something other than fight.

The combat pet sounds interesting.

I like that it's launching on my birthday.

Rattler! You are the best! It would also be cool if the KDF could use the Klingon badge, but I get KDF uniforms aren’t designed for badges.

Like I said, it's a fun thing to do for relaxation. Like I like doing the Flying High during the SE or the ice race during the WE. I like those events where fighting isn't a priority and fun is.

Not that I mind fighting either, I just like breaks with something to do other than that.

I'd be happy for them to just fix the stability issues. No reason why a game that's been out for 10 plus years should still crash repeatedly every night. Getting really old, really fast.

I used to enjoy it. Until it became painfully obvious that there isn't really much point in building a rocket unless you want to do so simply for the sake of doing so.

I'm not saying it should be viewed as competitive - not at all. However, I do think it should reward those who go to the trouble of sourcing purple parts and actually make an effort. But it doesn't. And I, personally, think it's damn stupid that a pile of scrap parts ignored by an AFK player, whose bench was on fire, can fly higher and further than the all-purple part rocket of a player who actually made an effort.

Sadly, we know it'll never be fixed since there is no financial incentive that would justify it.

true. i ran this last year as all basic parts, then would put out other fires for players as something to do...got second place still.

I'm perfectly fine with being in 2nd place, it's not 1st place but it's close enough.
