crashing when doing reputation/claiming ships from event store

just as title says, doing either of these crashes me.

    Same issue. Purchased two ships from the exchange and just about had a heart attack the first time. :|

    Logging back in my ship was in my roster at the ship yard. Hopped over to the alt I bought the other one for and opened their box and the same thing happened: crash to desk top. Logged back in and the ship was there in the ship yard. Reclaimed an event ship on that character and opened the box: crash to desk top.
