Device items with infinity symbol consumed on use

Just played the new TFO and received a weapon battery and a shield battery that had an infinity symbol on them. This seemed interesting and maybe the batteries are now non-consumables. Nope, put the weapon battery in as a test (as a replacement for a stack of 20), and it disappeared upon use. Is it just a mistaken visual (as I've started seeing some of my other "devices" have an infinity symbol behind a numeral) or is this a bug that hasn't been fully worked out?

Infinity symbol normally refers to it being levelless/scaling level, so as you level it gets more effective. Seems they're doing that instead of small, medium and large hypo now, or perhaps to indicate that it'll heal for more if you use it at a higher level

Nope, because small medium and large items continue to drop.
Methinks the code that determines when an infinity symbol is required is malfunctioning a bit and it's putting it on stuff that shouldn't have one.
