Cluster doff assignments and the replicator... What a mess!

Currently Im running from cluster to cluster to do the mission chains for the duty officers and Im facepalming at this issue.

I reach the cluster and the button for the local cluster assignments shows up, I see a few assignments and the chain assignment is there too but Im missing required materials, astrometric probes. Ok, I get them via the replicator. Open inventory -> open replicator -> duty assignment window resets. WTH?!

It removes the cluster assignments as if Im not at the cluster and the button for them isnt there either. I buy the necessary materials, close the replicator and the button to open the cluster assignments returns. Now I can start the chain mission.

Alternatively I select the mission I want to start even though Im missing the materials (because sometimes I instantly forget what I need to buy), open the replicator and now the assignment window doesnt reset but when I open the replicator and buy the materials the mission doesnt recognize that I have the materials. I have to close the replicator and hit the cluster button to open the cluster assignments to start the assignment

Who intentionally designed this mess and didnt bother to fix it by now???

    The person who designed the DOFF system left Cryptic a long time ago.

    I take it nobody was hired to replace that guy? Because it would eat resources they need to divert from lockboxes or "new content" to fix things, right?

    He did not leave the knowledge behind so that others could know what he did with the DOFF system in regards to coding it. Also, the lockboxes and creating new content, that is a separate discussion. Bugs are fixed just not according to our schedule, sometimes certain bugs have to be re-fixed after certain patches. He might have left for other opportunities or was fired. I do not know the whole story.

    Are you trying to sell me the usual BS company line of everything is peachy with extra rainbows on top? Because the utter lack of fixes and improvements to the interface (as this entire bug report demonstrates), only new lockboxes, a new infinity ship and three missions (instead of six) per year as new content is something no player witnesses? Or are you just trolling with an empty accusation because moderators on this forum have the reputation to troll players? I cant tell.
