I've stopped receiving credit for doing the winter event. I've been stuck at 15 for a week despite doing the event multiple times a day in an attempt to get the event completion to register.
I've been doing the holiday event in Star Trek Online every day since it started but I stopped getting credit for doing it after day 15. In other words, I've been stuck on 15 of 20 for a week. I get the blue package with the bow in my inventory but no credit for completion.
I noticed another glitch that I believe started around the same time. It doesn't seem like it would be related but I'm noting it anyway and that is that the game is indicating that I have new in-game mail even though I haven't received anything new. I emptied my mailbox of all messages but it still says I have new mail. That glitch occurred when another player was spamming my mailbox.
I submitted a ticket (Ticket #659949) and Game Master (redacted) insisted that I post the issue here for "documentation" so that he/she could escalate it and the devs would then "fix it". If that's the case, Why is there even a ticket system? There's nothing on this message board that indicates my PSN ID or the name of my character.
The fact that I still haven't even received a response tells me what I already knew, it's just more runaround. This is the kind of apathy towards customers that always causes me to abandon games. I just wish I'd never given Cryptic any of my money.
Couple of things before we get into the meat and potatoes of this. I get that you're upset but raging at Cryptic isn't going to help. Also please leave private correspondance out such as the name of GMs and such.
Now with that stuff said, idk what's going on but that said I will see where this is at and try to get things moving along. I can't promise anything specific, but I will do what I can.

slight update, the team has seen the report and are investigating. I will let you know if I hear anything else.

Lack of transparency (aka lack of communication with customers) always seems to be the biggest failing of game developers. There wouldn't be any "rage" if someone had communicated something, anything that would let me know that there was a human on the other end who is reading these and remotely cares. Silence for almost a week is what induces rage, especially when I'm running out of time on this. I'm so sorry, Captain Snowflake, if you're too fragile to handle a little well-deserved criticism (and yes, not communicating with paying customers regarding their issues is deserving of criticism) but I do thank you for finally bothering to respond.
Now with THAT said, whoever is "investigating" might find this helpful. I am convinced that the catalyst of this issue is the other issue of my in-game mail. As I stated before, another player, with whom I'd never before communicated nor corresponded in any way, began mail spamming me out of the blue. The content of the mail isn't important but it was all about how much he/she loves my character... blah blah blah. the point is it was being spammed at me through several emails. Aside from finding the spam annoying, I thought nothing of it at the time but I routinely clean out old mail, especially spam, and I noticed after that the "new mail" message had not gone away despite the fact that my box is empty. I also later noticed that I was no longer receiving daily credit for my progression through the Holiday Event and that I was stuck at 15 of 20. That's when I first put in a ticket.
A couple of days ago, upon the suggestion of another player, I managed to increase my progression to 16 of 20. I did this by using a secondary character, the only character I have, other than my primary, that is above level 10 and therefor able to participate in the Holiday Event. It is worth noting that my secondary did not have the "new mail" message before I participated in the event. That was apparently a one time shot as, not long after, that character also became afflicted with the "new mail" message despite her box being empty. I tried the next day with both my primary and secondary character to advance again in the Holiday Event, but neither were successful.
My thought then was, if I create a new, temporary character every day for four days and go through the annoyance of advancing each one sequentially to level 10, I could then take each one through the Holiday Event to attain completion. This didn't work however, because the temporary character had gotten the "new mail" indicator before even reaching level four.
Despite my suspicion that it was likely futile, I also tried reinstalling the game. This did not clear up the issue.
I'm all out of workarounds and with only 5 days left in the event and 4 days to go for my completion, I'm just out of time. So yeah, there is a sense of urgency here, at least on my end, even if clearly there is none on yours.
Please either credit me the four days since I have done the event far more than 20 times already, or drop the box for the upside down clothes iron starship into my inventory. I've more than earned it.
I responded with a long explanation of my additional observations and attempted workarounds, one of which worked... once. After going back to edit what I wrote, I attempted to save the edit and the entire message disappeared. Gone... into the ether. This is the second time that has happened to me with this message board and it's very frustrating.
What I will repeat is this part because it bears repeating. the biggest problem with game developers is lack of transparency (aka communication with paying customers) There would be no "raging" if someone there responded with something, anything that let me know there was a human being on the other end reading these who cares. Silence for almost a week is what induces rage. Let's face it, the only reason you bothered to respond was to lecture me because I expressed my frustration with the silence and you, being a snowflake apparently, can't handle even the slightest criticism despite said criticism being well-deserved. Silence on an internet message board is an expression of apathy, like it or not.
I'm willing to type it all again if I receive some indication that there is a human on the other end that is interested in what workarounds I have tried and what I have observed about this issue with the Holiday Event and my in-game mail.
Don't be silent. Don't be apathetic. Be transparent. Let me know that somebody who cares is listening. It isn't that hard.
First, I found your comment in the spam filter. Since your account is relatively new to these forums your account had not been verified on the backend. Because of this accounts that do edits or frequent edits run the risk of being caught by the spam filter since this can be indicative of a bot, as bots that have come to this forum often try to edit their posts to update links and such. Your post has been restored.
Bearing that in mind I'm going to let the snowflake comment slide this time even though by the rules I should moderate that comment out.
Now as to your issue, I had gone out of my way to grab the attention of some folks and see where your ticket is and what's going on. From what I was told it was seen by the team and because of what it deals with should have been escalated to a higher tier. They will respond to you via the ticket or may respond to you here either or. And no, I didn't respond to lecture you, even though I was forced by the rules to redact parts of your post. I actually responded because it's not the first time I've heard of odd issues like this with the mail and part of my second hat duties include helping the devs find bugs and report them for fixing. I responded because your report lines up with an issue I have been keeping a watch for, also to see if I can see where your ticket is and get you some help. When they are able to verify an issue they are generally good about rectifying said issue. Such as in my case when a promo pack got stuck on the wrong toon. It was also the holiday weekend which further slowed things down. Neither myself or Cryptic can be everywhere at once either. Although I try to monitor the bug forums I don't always see everything which is why I have told folks they can tag me if it's something serious.
With all of that said I'm going to ask this once. Do you still want assistance with your issue, or do you want to try to bash me? If you still want assistance with this issue, I will keep after them on this issue and check back here every so often to see what progress has been made on correcting this issue. Or if you want to keep bashing me and Cryptic I will assume that you simply want to rant and rage and will close this thread under that assumption and you will still be in the same position you are now, except you will have lost one possible avenue of acquiring assistance. The choice is yours. Do you want help, or do you want to keep bashing me?
