Is there a way to turn off the yellow "New"?

I'm absolutely fine with seeing the yellow "New" notification, on threads that I've participated in or have even started...but I'm finding notifications for threads that I've taken one look at and decided I want nothing more to do with.

I've checked and I can't see anything in my settings that would turn it off, I'm not following any threads whatsoever...but still, the yellow "New".

    That's what I'm talking about. I clicked on a couple out of curiosity...but they're active threads and it's just annoying seeing updates of a thread that I'm not interested in.

    Far as I know... there is no off button.

    I wish we could get the time back we lost reading some of these too...

    I’m just teasing. I guess we are pretty lucky to have free time here and in-game. You guys have some interesting perspectives on Star Trek.
