For any who have not seen this news yet (and who live outside the US)

"Today ViacomCBS and Netflix officially parted company with ViacomCBS buying out the lucrative deal they struck less than 4 years ago with the streaming giant.

For the last 4 years, Star Trek: Discovery has aired in 190 countries globally and has been the home for all things Star Trek for as long as we can remember, unfortunately, today that all changed.

As of midnight, tonight Discovery will exit Netflix and will instead be launched globally with Paramount+ in 2022. "

this is a massive slap in the face to fans and practally unherd of delaying a series this long nowa days

Agreed - it's a real middle finger to the fans of the show, particularly since they did this literally only a few DAYS before it was supposed to air. I gather, from Twitter, that the actors had no idea that this was happening either - and they'd been doing promo work for the series in the UK too!

Good news for UK viewers, it's on Pluto TV tomorrow night at 9pm on their scifi channel.
Even better news, you don't need a Pluto TV account, just go to the website and start watching

That's hardly good news. Pluto is extremely low quality not even 1080p yet alone 4k, no HDR and poor sound as well. Plus adverts. Plus many TV's don't even support the app.

Not for me I would rather go with nothing then use Pluto as it will spoil the expreince.

Those international delays can cause a lot of people to stop watching, by the time the shows finally make it over they are often spoilered quite a bit, even when that does not happen a lot of viewers who don't follow the news about the shows figure they were cancelled and just move on to other shows. Then there is the factor that a show has to be really special to maintain interest over that large gap (which DSC and the other NuTrek really isn't, it is rather generic and does not have enough traditional Trek features to have a big nostalgia value) though since it is streaming it would avoid the problem that cable has with its narrow viewing time windows.
