Knowledge is Power bug stuck with dual pistols

During the mission Knowlege is Power, J'Ula is required to use melee weapons to fight Kahless. My character has melee weapons equipped, however i cannot switch to use melee and am stuck with dual pistols. I have quit and restarted the mission and before i started the mission had only melee weapons but still end up with only dual pistols.
