A Ruined Galaxy Mirror Visual

From this (https://www.mediafire.com/view/13wryfgl0gvb6vg) to this (https://www.mediafire.com/view/og0shti3lmvhe8h)? Now when I go to place a Vanity Shield on a Galaxy-class Dreadnought which features it, the Galaxy Mirror visual seen in the first photo is ruined. Why?

Because typically, most shield visuals automatically over-write ship skins, of which the Mirror is one.

Then why are the "dagger and earth" sigils still here in the second pic? Looks more like an oversight than working-as-intended.

There are actually at least three or four layers to the composite that makes the final look, the base material set in the basic customizing box, the overlay which the patterns in the "advanced" part of the customizer belong to, the vanity shield layer (assuming it is not just an alternate for the pattern overlay one), and on the very top layer the ship name and faction/fleet insignia. If the vanity shield layer is made opaque (not all of them are completly opaque, the pink Breast Cancer charity one for instance is not quite 100% opaque) then it obscures the underlying layers, like the one with the yellow Mirror livery.

The Reliant mirror version does this took. Sometimes the overlay not dealing with the mirror looks really good.
I like how the vanity shield doesnt erase everything underneath

Yeah, I noticed this, too. I run a Mirror Gal-X with the Terran saucer, and used to be the Terran rep shield I use for visuals left the Terran symbol on the saucer visible. Now it doesn't. What changed, and why?

I noticed this today as well, was using the Section 31 vanity shield on my Mirror GalX so that I could have a black hull with the claw decal, but now the claw disappears when I equip a vanity shield. I hope this is just a bug, because I wouldn't have bought the vanity shield if I'd known this change would happen.

Saw this posted and jumped on to check my Gal-X that I run with Terran parts with a Baul Vanity shield and none of the Terran emblems were visible with the vanity shield slotted. I took it to the tailor and looked at the saved image i had of it and the saved image had no Terran decals on it. Which is weird because that's the only image I saved. Its like the Terran decals got removed. So I resaved it and then put the vanity shield back on and it showed the Terran emblems on the nacelles but did not show the Terran emblem on the saucer and yes I had the proper saucer slotted because as soon as i removed the vanity shield the decal reappeared.

That makes no sense at all. This is a problem someone has to fix.

Just looked at my Gal-X with Baul Vanity shield and it still only has the mirror graphics on the nacelles but nothing on the saucer. The saucer graphics reappear when I remove the vanity shield. So either still broken or the new norm.
