Check and confirm there are no new drivers available for your system, and also make sure Windows is fully patched as well with Windows Update.
I've stated however I think the core problem still exists within the STO code, as vast majority had no issues prior to 5/25 MOD/patch; except some started seeing it in Steam 4/28.
Have a read thru this forum and see if anything helps, some have found that after CTRL (Shift) ESC (Open Task Mgr) then end the STO Client Application. Some have found on 2nd attempt strangely it will then work fine.

5 weeks since the May25 death path here. No end in sight. No official word from Cryptic. And we are not alone.
