Is there any way to tell what the code mean? I just got a crash again and I wasn't even doing anything. Just standing next to the exchange without interacting with anything. Didn't even have the exchange open.
I'd guess that they are nothing more than This is report number... just done in Hex rather than Decimal (for a laugh convert them to decimal and you'll see why the use Hex). If you look at them they generally increment. Here are mine for the last 10 days, not played all days and one or two nothing happens then two in five minutes another session.
Most have been on Risa, anything from standing still to doing Flying High. I've had it when transferring items from one account to another, the first remains fine the second CTD's. Checked my system, drivers are all up to date done a disk check and all the usual diagnostics.
Haven't been able to play a Deep Space Encounter or a TFO since May. My game crashes less than a minute after the combat starts. I actually was able to get through a single DSE about a month ago, and thought that problems had been solved, but it was immediately back.
1 thing I'd noticed - after a game crash, by screen saver is disabled, and only a PC restart gets it back. I assumed that there was some problem with display settings, but maybe the problem is the game trying to deal with graphics settings.
Yea hopefully Cryptic can find the issue that started in 5/25 (late May) for a small to moderate majority of players who are effected.
Still I think it's increased, for some especially after they've installed the Windows 10 21H1 update; which came out at about the same time or just before 5/25. And windows has the most recent update as today, same with my driver.
Someone else (a friend) stated turning off Lighting 2.0 also seems to reduces the # of crashes. I found the NVidia GeForce GTX 1650 Ti Drivers issued June 22nd (most recent) have helped reduce it for me too, as well as perhaps turning OFF Dynamic Lighting, I don't like turning off Lighting 2.0 and it may also help! Still the CORE of the issue is in the STO code itself, that they hopefully are working to identify the real cause!
Not complaining, I know it takes a lot of hard work and investigation to resolve, so we can only be patient...
