stuck at first battle in A Day Long Remembered

I finished this mission on both my main FED and ROM toons, but I'm stuck on my KDF toon. In the first battle, where J'mpok is supposed to fire on your ship and you have to get to J'ula's ship to get it to be fired upon, once the weapon fires, you see a rife appear around her ship, but then nothing. No cutscene or anything, just an endless wave of ships attacking. I've tried leave the area and continuing and even dropping the mission and the results are the same.

Why would I be able to finish it on my FED and ROM toons, but not my KDF toon?

And yet another issue I can confirm.
I ran into this very same bug today.
I lured the Kri'stak to fire upon the K't'inga, but nothing happened. No cutscene, nothing.
The waves of attacking ships just went on and on...
Warping out and resuming this mission didn't work. I had to break up the Mission and started it all over again. It didn't happen on my second attempt.
