There doesn't seem to be a way to capture a few of the animals; Driclae, Hatham, Orithian Creeper, Rihan Sailback, and Vivver Cat. The ones I have found in the wild are non-hostile and therefore can't be weakened. Some are mentioned as being in particular missions, but as a Federation Engineer, I do not have access to them (Alpha), or they are no longer available for some reason (Paehhos Crater, The Atlai).

I was lucky and had the mission "Observe wildlife" not done yet so I was able to accept it; some animals became randomly hostile so I successfully 'collected' Hatham and Vivver Cat. Now after 48h I cant accept that mission again so there is no way to repeat that process.
Main issue is: Driclae are not there. Maybe the other animals need to be killed to get them spawn? If yes, well.... I and other still cant replay that.
Orithian Creeper are currently known only to spawn in the mission Alpha but this mission is not playable as a FED char!
Rihan Sailback is at the 'Atlai' transporter; there is also a mission which needs to be accepted - then you can scan the caves and sometimes hostile Sailback are spawning. But well if you cant get the mission you are... fk´d
This needs to be addressed by the devs

Unconfirmed, but told you can go into a pvp match with a KDF side character that got the Orithian Creeper in order to obtain it.
Guess pokemon trading is also a thing. XD

Update: They made the New Romulus missions replayable, so I was able to capture three more critters. Still need Orithian Creeper and Driclae.

Driclae is still not in game. (Got Orithian Creeper via PVP.)
