Delta Quadrant Patrols

There seems to be a bug or problem with 2 of the patrols in the Delta Quadrant, Alliances and Better with friends. no matter what ship i use or how i equip it i can not get past the first stages of these patrols. i have tried changing the difficulty settings but to no avail. i'm trying to gt the arrard for completing the Delta story ark with my new KDF character so it seems i have to do these two or i would just skip them
