After the Capcha hurdles, I finally got into these forums to discover no way to actually contact support staff. I was trying to advise you folks that MSN’s recent “update” has made PvP impossible for me and PvE VERY trying on my patience. It has become a regular thing to have to look at damage report to find out how I died and who killed me. Due to an extremely long duration graphics lag AND the new serious lag between my controller and Xbox console. Unacceptable. I had to shut game off today because it is just too frustrating to try play with things this sabotaged by MSN to try force everyone to buy a new Cbox X. I was going ttniy one bit doubt I will now as MSN is just too shady these days. Criminals in reality.

Now... playing Devil's Advocate just for a minute here... are you certain that it was Microsoft doing this intentionally to force you to buy a new, as far as I am aware UNRELEASED console? Or could there be a plausible alternative? Is it the ISP? Is it the controller itself?
Serious mode: As far as I am aware no business has sabotaged a product to force you to upgrade. It would be bad business, cause people with the older products who may be happy with them to rage, and ultimately lose customers. There are people still playing the classic XBox even today, and getting games for it from secondhand and retro game stores.
HELL... there's still copies of NES games in the wild!
In the past Microsoft has "encouraged" people to update PCs from XP to Vista by making Halo 2 require Vista, back when Halo was the new hotness that everyone had to have, but we all know how that went down. No new PC release of Halo for many years.
The only encouragement to upgrade right now that I am aware of is new games coming out. However there is generally an overlap period where some games are released for both the new console and the older one before phasing out releases for the older one entirely in favor of the new.
As for the lag... it could be any number of things between you and the server. PC has been having to deal with lag issues for a while because of Akami being run on nodes between players and Cryptic's server. While most of the lag seems to have been rectified for the time being... Akami is a common frustration for us PC players.
All I can suggest right now is to try and narrow down exactly what is causing your problems and see if other XBox players are also suffering similar problems before lunging for the jugular.
I have both an XBox S and X, and STO runs fine on both of them, and I also run in their Insider program which provides advanced release of updates, as well as their Ambassador program. I'm curious to how OP thinks MS have slowed his console down via an update, because as far as I know, this is something they haven't announced or done.
The ONLY reasonable things I can think of is a mis-applied update or hardware malfunction, which will require a Factory Reset or repair, or reinstallation of the game which may also have a misapplied update.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

This guy does not seem like someone that can be reasoned with.
Had to at least try.
