the Red Angel Suit should get a small update so you can use it as a e.v suit. it is a self contained unit. plus the suit is used in a vacuum in the show.
Personally I agree. You can virtually fly around in the thing (almost). I mean, that's more than most E.V. suits can do. With all it's other powers, I'm really surprised--and disappointed--that wasn't included. And like you said, it can be used in a vacuum, so shouldn't that be an E.V. suit?
Personally I think they should do away with the distinction between EV suits and regular armours completely.
Just let us use all armours - or at least the more special ones that cannot be obtained as random loot, like those from reputations - as EV suits. And make EV suits more useful for combat with some stats improvements. Or perhaps even better: add EV suits to the tailor so that players can use the visuals without actually having to equip a suit. Make the tailor unlocks conditional on owning the suit if necessary.
In my opinion, there aren't enough instances where we have to use EV suits. So that makes the EV suits pretty useless compared to regular armour, as their combat stats are usually worse compared to other stuff you can equip. At the same time, there are plenty of unique EV suits that look great and which are therefore worth the effort of making these changes - and making them more useful as said.
(And yes before anyone comes in just to point that out, we're necromancing, but who cares? The topic remains relevant.)

Relevant... maybe. I'll have to confer with the other mods on if this still fall under Necro. I'm leaning towards yes, however I'll verify since I feel this is a BIT of a gray area.

as long as it's rlevant for the moment. it's canon that persona shields work as ev suits.. if you consider TAS canon now is it a good idea on Nukara where the tholians are bringing down your shields? probably not...
If the Red Angel suit could be used as an EV suit I would have purchased it right away when it went to Mudd's, but without that capability I'm really not interested unfortunately.

That would make it the best or worst ev suit in the game (now that I think of it that would be right up cryptic's alley to do that so people pay the gouge on mudd's market) EV suits have very different stat allocation...they'd either have to change its stats, add even more stats, or leave it as is and it will be weak in ev situations.

I have conferred with my fellow moderators... and our judgement is thus:
While this thread is a Necro... we shall... allow it to stand, this time, as it is relevant due to the recent release of the Red Angel Suit in the Mudd Store, and this thread originally only had one post before Necromancy was performed.

EV Suits, as a whole, are VERY outdated in this game. More so, with new trek stuff popping up in shows and just making sto look bad. Personally, i think they should allow you to designate a costume as an EV Suit in the tailor. Specifically, if they cover your head in a helmet and all the more so if THAT'S WHAT THEY WERE USED FOR ON SCREEN.... Additionally, ever since the Solanae station mission and risa getting jet packs, that should be a standard feature on ALL EV Suits. Again, ESPECIALLY IF THAT'S HOW THEY WORK ON SCREEN.
Basic canon functionality would be a fantastic thing to add to the EV Suits, in general, and everything needed for them to do that is already built into the game. I find it a bit ridiculous and lazy that we have to don't have the basic functions of these suits or so many EV Suits that actually aren't. I don't mind the basic equipable items but considering that we're supposedly Fleet Admirals in a scientifically advanced Federation, the idea that we can't get better (and again, canonically functioning) EV Suits, laughable.
As someone pointed out earlier, ANY personal shielding also acts as EV suit capable, so i think they could even sell and EV Suit skin that is *just* the old shield effect over your character.
It is a valid point. In the show the Red Angel suit is used for time travelling so it functioning as a regular EV suit should be basic child's play. This is another one of those items, like 7 of 9's, dual "Tetryon" rifles that I'm surprised CBS/Paramount allowed Cryptic to break canon since could've easily been done correctly. It's annoying but not game breaking. Meanwhile I have a Gorn that'll wear a EV suit & have no arms nor legs for years now. I'm glad I earned it when I did but I wouldn't buy it in the state that it's in.

If I remember correctly they had originally considered giving it EV capability, but ultimately decided against it, I think for gameplay reasons. Think there's still talk about making a dedicated EV slot though...

Well it's clearly not the same suit she used or else it would be able to time travel
Well it could be just that time crystal in our suit is uncharged
