So for nearly a year, I've just been playing this game in maintenance mode. As in, log on for certain events, then log off. Now, I'd like to "catch up" with more modern information on what's good, what isn't, etc. So!
- Is the lobi herald stick still a top-tier weapon? What else is considered up there, besides the boolean (not really a fan) and leck's knives (also not a fan)
- What's considered the best defensive ground set? I'm currently using the Iconian stuff, but that's got to be getting pretty old by now.
- Likewise, what's the best defensive space set? Also currently using the Iconian set.
- Any "must have" c-store ships? I'm sitting on a 100% off ship coupon (and another pretty soon) and want to make sure it goes for something good. Note that a particularly-OP console or exp weapon can also be a good reason to get particular ship. The Earhart Strike Wing Escort looks interesting, is it decent or TRIBBLE/outdated?
- How about good kit modules/consoles? The free Neutronic Eddy Generator seems pretty broken, and since it was free, this leads me to believe there's even more broken consoles and such out there, ripe for the picking.

The new Disco rep set is definitely a good defensive set. Whether it is better than the Iconian set, I don't really know. I'd say its likely better for cruisers and dreadnoughts for the high base hull HP and how it buffs regen and hull capacity.
I wouldn't say there are must have Cstore ships from the past year, unless you want to count the Legendary pack, but even that isn't really must have. Most people like the Gagarin or its KDF counterpart as very good Cstore ships, in spite of how ugly they may be. The Earhart is okay as I understand, but I don't think anyone considers it a must have, and the trait isn't anything special.
On traits in general, adaptive offense is a Borg lockbox trait in space and ground flavors, and Intelligence Agent Attache from the Angel's wake box.
If you ask me, the Eddy console is hot garbage, because it tosses enemies all over the place. For grav well builds you probably missed the retrofitted assimilator console from the Borg lockbox and there is the fragment of AI tech trait as well from the Angel's Wake lockbox. The borg box also has kit frames and the assimilate module which are seemingly popular.
The Kelvin divergence box has two useful consoles, the hull image refractors being generally useful for a simple +20% damage mod, and swarmer matrix very useful for certain builds, and for kit modules the bio essence transfer might be useful if your tact captains need some healing options and the chain conduit capacitor is fun. It also has delayed overload cascade BOFF power which might be useful to a grav well build.
Things that are nice to have:
- Reciprocity from the Phantom Intel Escort
- All Hands on Deck from the Presidio Command Battlecruiser
Other than those... really just starship traits that fit into your playstyle.Ground weapons... I don't really know what's top tier or not, other than maybe the TR-116. On the lobi side... honestly I think anything you like the look of can be effective.
Same with sets. My main still runs at least the 2 piece MACO set. *shrug* Like that Emergency Shield Capacitor.
Space... probably build dependant. I run the Kobali set myself.
Kit modules and consoles... again I'd have to say whatever suits your build or theme.

Well that isn't a real map change, as far as I'm aware, but it ports you between different parts of the same map for the different phases.
Agree on the Narendra/Vor'ral though, they have a very nice general use trait and you may like the ships too.
I really hate it when I'm running a gravwell build in a TFO or a battlezone and someone drops a neutronic eddy and knocks all the enemies out of my gravwell. Torques me off. It definitely should not be used in conjunction with a grav well or any other effect that does AoE damage in a specific spot.
But I have found that it actually makes for a decent alternative to Tractor Beam: Repulsors in clearing out ships that are swarming you. If you are running a gravwell build this might be good if you are at a distance from your well and gravwell is still on cooldown. It worked quite well in the gamma quadrant story missions, for example.
The main question is, it it worth a console slot to have that ability? You have to decide for yourself.
Might not be good for DPS, but its good for a laugh.
