At the moment they cannot really cancel it without risking spooking the investors and that is the last thing they need after the gamble and stretch to buy Paramount back. If SNW proves to be wildly popular that might change, but right now CBSAA is very much an all eggs in one basket situation. The cancellation rumors are the wishful thinking of some of the more offended core fans.

I just hope that their ersatz Andromeda jaunt doesn't drive the series into the ground since even some of the DSC fans are not exactly happy about the shark jump.

And "Enterprise" (they didn't even call that "Star Trek: Enterprise"!).

And "Lower Decks" ("a cartoon?", they cried).

And VOY.

And DS9 ("our five-year mission - to go absolutely nowhere!").

And TNG.

Yeah, been hearing that complaint most of my adult life...
