Help, can I still buy out the Event Campaign??

pritch#1622 pritch Member Posts: 36 Arc User
I already think the answer is no, but I want to check;

I missed most of the first two events in the campaign due to illness. I missed the first completely, and have 21% progress discount in Pahvo, so 79% progress to gain, supposedly?. I have fully completed the third and fourth events. I am showing 1950/2800.

I can no longer buy out the first event so that's gone forever, but it also seems pointless to buy out the second? Each event awards 700 progress, correct? So that means you MUST complete or buy out all FOUR events to reach 2800 and claim the lobi?

Only thing is, at 1950 I can't get this to add up - this would suggest I did 11 days of Pahvo at 50 a day? Which I'm pretty sure I didn't do, and a progress discount of just 21% says I didn't do either.

What on earth is going on? And most importantly, is there any point in my buying out Pahvo now - can I reach the 2800 points with just three completed events?

I really don't know. There may be a second chance to buy it out after this campaign is over.
Now a LTS and loving it.
Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything. :D

    It's really confusing.

I am in a similar situation on my FTP, alternate account. I could buy out two of the event rewards through the C-store, but then I'd still be 100 or 200 points short or so of 2800.

There should be more clarity on this.

@ambassadorkael#6946 , any ideas whether we will be able to buy additional points to get to 2800 after the event?

You want to spend zen or lobi, on a buyout to earn the award of zen or lobi? OK .....

Yes, you could have bought out any/each of the individual events, and count that as total campaign progress.
But no, I do not believe you can overbuy this single event to get the last 850 points you need. That's 17 days of any single event, and the current event ends in 7 days.

But, maybe when it's all done, you will get a nice surprise. Right now, I do not see that option as available. Just like you don't see it.

A lot of people don't realize this, but you can actually continue to do the current event after you complete it or buy it out, and you will still earn campaign progress.

If you're able to get within 300 points or so of completion, via the buyouts, you can earn those points during the remainder of the current event.

(and @pritch ... this might be why your numbers don't add up?)

    Ok that is useful informaiton.

But in theory it's still possible for some to miss the 2800 mark. If they missed some events entirely and too few buy out options are available, they can still come up short.

They need to be more clear about these kind of things. Information providing has been going from bad to worse in this game. If I look at the buy out page in the Zen store now, I'm seeing:

    - The battle at the binary stars buy out - second chance
It has the picture of one of the drones. But the description says it contains the cyclical weapon pack and some other stuff.
It also says it'll be available until 3/2/20... and for another 101 days, six hours, six minutes.

Like, really? Does anyone even check this kind of stuff before it's thrown into the game?

I'm on console, and still have a few hundred points left to complete this event. I'm not sure that (Xbox One) for instance, has had the final grind come up yet, so if I'm wrong .... someone please correct me?

I don't think that I've missed or skipped anything, but these days with so much going on seasonally, weekend alerts, updates, patches, etc. Who knows?

As of right now, there is enough time remaining for the event to complete it 7 more times before it ends. And that's if you time your turn-in at the end of the TFOs down almost to the minute, meaning you pre-queue and wait until right after the reset timer pops before accepting your mark award for completion. -edit- And that's no small task considering how variable the time it takes to complete TFO can be.

So, at *MAXIMUM* there's only 350 points of campaign progress left to be earned.

Yeah, like I said, I only have a few hundred left to earn; so that sounds about right.

I'll have mine and my family's by tomorrow. Had to take some days off for not feeling well and almost always take patch day off. Not interested in going beyond for dil, that's stupid easy to get other ways.

Well the plot thickens, so I didn't realise progress is still earned once you hit

That was indeed useful info, although I spotted this for myself when I noticed the campaign progress was still going up after 14/14.

That, combined with gaining additional progress on the previous event, allowed me to buy out the balance of Pahvo and complete the campaign, despite not doing the first one at all.

Echo the other comments, this is not nearly clear enough within the UI. How I wish the developers would sort these kind of fundamental things out instead of doing things like force changing the width the inventory window!

Anyway, I hope everyone got their lobi.
