This was way before rubberbanding provided another excuse.
Don't forget to add in this year has been rather messed up. Which has slowed things down, especially for the north and west.
So, I'm not really expecting much on this front.
But then, we won't know if it's been postponed again or not, until the patch notes before Halloween. Or at least the patch notes for them putting it in.
So IF we used Drazona as the location, what if all the gear was Ferengi based if not related to the "hostile" races it would just be a simple 31 day event, get your goodies, maybe a ferengi or other race ship and have some fun.
I was also thinking, the "battle" area would take place in sections that are not used by the ferengi, like the command center or the engineering sections that dont relate to their bar (because what else is there?)
I was thinking about this for a possible Halloween mission.
You receive a distress signal from A lunar base. All attempts to contact the base have been unsuccessful so far. You approach the base at very close orbit but before you can hover over the base there is a spatial anomaly/wormhole/whatever that wrecks havoc on your ship’s systems so no transporters, shields or anything else that would make this easy. While your engineering team makes repairs you limp off to the far side of the moon where there is an access point to the base.
To get there you have to exit the ship and “space-walk” toward the access point. Being game mechanics as it is you as the Captain is the most expendable member of the crew so you go first following a flight path much like the “Flying High” mission, possibly going through canyons when you reach the ground level, maybe even clearing a few obstacles until you arrive at the access point (airlock).
Once you and your away team are inside you head to the main part of the base, everything is off and you’re in pitch dark save from the light on E.V. suit. Why the suit have power when everything else is shut down beats me. I am sure someone can come up with a plausible explanation better than I could.
You run into a lot of dead bodies as you arrive at the main part of the station and your goals are to try to get power to the base and find out what happened. You also will be getting some tell tale signs that you and your team may not be alone (blood on the walls, consoles, etc.).
Some aspects of the mission I would like to see is a control tower with a panoramic view of the base and the moon where you have to access to get the power on and some answers. Another space-walk across the base much like in “Boldly They Rode” except not that ant crawl they had in that mission. A firefight with the aliens and a countdown for self destruct I think would add to the urgency.
NOTE: This is a very general, broad outline of the mission that borrows heavily from elements of past missions but that at least has the advantage that the aspects of this mission can be done and has worked before. If the developers where so inclined I think it would be cool if they created a unique alien(s) for this mission. Super wish list would be if they had some lunar buggy to get around in but I know they had said before that game mechanics don’t allow for it hence just a “wish”.
"There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life." - Ten Bears (Will Sampson)

Yea... the only time I jump in Hearts and Minds is when all the clones suddenly speak up at once. Not because it scared me, but because its just BOOM! Sudden VO work that you can't help but jump at even if you are expecting it.
And I really only play it once in a character for the DOff and title, then pretty much forget it exists.
Used to send Dr. Sibak on Routine Turbolift Maintenance. He always seemed to be an injury magnet no matter what I sent him on. Kinda became a running joke in my fleet that Sibak always ends up in sickbay.
I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!
