Tsunkate Gloves for bridge officers

Greetings all
it seems that if you give your bridge officers Tsunkate gloves item (its a melee weapon) thay just stands a round and punch air on a fair distance from the target its supposed to take down. if i happen to remove the gloves and keep the weapon slot empty the bridge officers again fight with their hands as there supposed to do. i hope this can be fixed in the next patch
