Still nothing on this from my ticket, in patch notes, or on the forums.
@darkbladejk or @ambassadorkael#6946 , were you able to get any information on the bug, a fix, or any possible resolution for people who have been affected?
It has been over a month and still the only response I can get on a ticket is
"Any news about this would be posted on our website and official forums page. We apologize for the inconvenience the issue has caused."
The issue has never once been officially acknowledged. There is nothing on the forum other than this thread and one in the bug reporting (which, by the way, is the other thing I keep being told to do, just report it as a bug).
What it comes down to is, items I paid for were effectively taken away from me through no action of my own. I have received no explanation and no compensation, I have no proof anyone is even trying to fix anything. The "bug" that caused this may still be out there and active, taking items away from other players.
@ambassadorkael#6946 , please, if you have ANY information on this or if there is anything else I should be doing, let me know. This was not a small purchase for me and right now it feels like the problem is being swept under the rug.
Still nothing on this. Really wondering what resolution was reached with at least one person in this thread. Because support has just told me to wait and hope.
Maybe this is like the personnel tab thing. If you really want the stuff you already bought, just buy it again.
Two months.
Two months since items from a $200 bundle were eaten by a bug in the game.
Two months of support telling me to "keep an eye on the forums".
Two months without a single official word about this bug or whether it is fixed.
Two months without really even knowing whether it is being addressed.
Well. If they are offering the Legendary bundle with 10 ship slots again today, they must have fixed this bug, right? I mean, they would not have players spend all that money and NOT have fixed the problem...right? That would be silly.
Which makes me wonder, if the problem has been fixed, why do I still not have a resolution to my lost ship slots?
That's why they removed the calender rather than committing to fixing it so it worked CORRECTLY.
Don't be surprised if their ultimate solution is to just remove the coupons from the game.
At this point it is beyond the "bug" or whatever happened. If they can't fix it, fine. But the "bug" effectively removed $25 worth of store-purchased items and they have not lifted one finger in the past 3 months to even suggest any recompense for that loss.
No, I said the calendar was often incorrect because the way it was designed from the get go was that the devs had to manually go in, and place all the things on it, and could only do so via a patch.
Yeah, they really messed up by using such a bad design in the first place. Bad design, and bad decision to use it.
While the calendar stuff is fascinating, it never stole any store items from me.
But yeah, it does seem like the plan for some problems in the game boils down to either "ignore it" or "remove it".
There was never any response to the First Contact Day rewards not being account-wide, never any response for this bug that consumed items, and a support department that can only say "Customer Support rarely receive updates directly from the developers" while they sweep the problem under the rug.
There seems to be a working Calendar in Cryptic Neverwinter. I guess a Fantasy Realm knows what to do, whereas a 25th Century Interstellar Society are stumped at the thought.

Time to start pestering PWE then. Go over Cryptic's head and draw their bosses' attention to their lack of ability to fix issues that have an effect on real money transactions. As long as these issues are not an irritant to the ones signing Cryptic's paycheck, then it'll be just business as usual. Meaning nothing gets done. Like I said, I doubt PWE even knows about most of the issues the game has. All they seem to care about is that the flow of revenue coming in from those of us who keep throwing money at this game keeps flowing. We need to cut it off, tell them why and refuse to spend a dime until ALL of these issues get sorted. And by God we need to stick to that position. WE need to make sure these issues bite PWE in the bottom line. And we need to get the word out there about the issues so as to discourage people from even trying the game out until things get fixed.
How long do they expect us to just keep putting up with all these issues? False advertising, unacceptable network traffic issues, Auto-activating ship coupons, just to name a few. Like I said, I closed my wallet to them.
My beef with them is one of principle. But there a whole lot more tangible issues with the game that really justify closing one's wallet, and yet people just shrug and go on forking over money to get Zen to spend on shinies that mean nothing. We need to stop enabling them.
I get it that they are a small team. They could be bigger. But PWE makes that decision by controlling the budget. Therefore, every issue that goes unfixed due to lack of manpower, I lay at PWE's feet. So yeah. Go over Cryptic's head and complain about issues directly to PWE. Give them a reason to take a hard look at STO and the issues surrounding it. Then maybe something might actually get done.
Not going to hold my breath, though.
Here's something to consider, what if the CEO of Cryptic Studios is the one who sets how many people they actually need when he talks to the staff? That's kind of his job, to run the company and relays the needs of the studio to the corporate office who is in charge of their budget.
Its very well possible that he knows what the team is able to accomplish and trusts them to do what they need to.
Yes, every game has bugs. Nobody disagrees. The problem is multiple game breaking bugs in a single update is not ok or normal. Peoples characters disappearing is not ok or normal. There is simply no valid excuse for that kind of thing, and saying every game has bugs does not change that fact.
Sad to see this is still not fixed.
I only opened one of those ship token packs myself. The remaining 4 auto-opened on my main, who didn't need them. Now they're wasted.
Differences with the calendar:
1) The calendar was more accurate than Kael's blog posts.
2) The calendar wasn't something the players spent money directly on. These tokens we spent money to get.
I opened a ticket in-game, and didn't even get the usual "Ticket #blahblah created." That used to work too (even if you couldn't see them in-game).
