This is not a Fleet recruitment or wish to join another fleet.
I have a TOS Tellarite Captain with a Gemini Temporal Cruiser. I have an interest in connecting with other TOS characters with TOS era ships to occasionally do TFO's and battlezones. It would be an awesome sight to see a collection of TOS on maneuvers together. Maybe even buzz ESD or DS9. I would include Klingons with the classic D-7 in the mix.
My main toon is a TOS era Captain, right now I'm not in a TOS ship because I'm saving up for the TOS Enterprise Constitution Temporal Light Cruiser (if one becomes available one day when I have the ec to get one). I can't afford the Anniversary ships.
My Fed toons are almost always in TOS uniforms, and whenever I can, I prefer to have them in TOS ships. I've always loved the mid-century look in general, especially in the sci-fi of that era, and TOS is no exception.
Resident TOS, G.I. Joe, Transformers and hair metal fangirl.
My TOS captain and core crew are always in TOS uniforms too, though the rest of the boffs end up in either standard 2411 uniforms or more often those uniforms kludged up to resemble TOS uniforms as much as possible. Unfortunately the only TOS ships I have are the AoY starter ships because I do not have the budget to spend the enormous amounts to get a decent TOS ship.
baudl - that is a great idea! I created a chat channel called "TOS Era Players"
scorpwanna and phoenixc - I understand your situation My thoughts are come with what you got. Your interest is there and your are aspiring to get a TOS ship. Having the uniforms at least get you 50% there.
jamieblanchard - I feel the same way. It is the sci-fi I grew up with. I like just about all the Star Trek series, but TOS is very special to me and is my favorite by far. TOS is the Star Trek I grew up with and I really enjoy playing STO with my TOS character and ship, because it takes me back to that world.
My main character is Admiral Komack. I fly the T6 Temporal Light Cruiser. Have a full BOFF setup of K-13 crew. So yeah, I'm pretty dedicated to the TOS aesthetic.

not all of my toons are TOS, but all the feddies have the MW Connie and the Disco Connie thanks to the legendary pack, and my TOS toon has the temporal Connie. I also have the T1 on all my feddie toons. I always thought it would be fun to be part of a 4 ship task force hunting one, just like in the Ultimate computer.. it would be a pretty epic YouTube video I think
Yes an ultimate computer scenario would be awesome to play out. I actually have the M-5 on my ship. I got it when I got the T3 Perseus Escort. It is a great console.
Speaking of T3 Perseus. One can buy now for 75,000 dilithium. For those who are not able to buy T6 ships, get a T3 Perseus if you can grind the dilithium. Grind to get Fleet gear from K-13 and equip with either Nukara or Iconian space sets. You get the M-5 tactical computer with the purchase.
My main ship is a T6 Temporal Gemini Cruiser, but I take my T3 Perseus out once in awhile. If it is played like a WW2 escort I can do well. What I mean by that is actually escort capital ships and not go head to head with battle cruisers and battleships. Stick close to the cruisers, dart in and out and escort them. Days of Doom TFO comes to mind. When the capital ships pick up Scotty’s warp core bombs to take out the planet killer, the escorts actually escort them and help to keep enemy off by darting in and out harassing the enemy. The Perseus in maneuverable and fast like and escort should be.
Following WW2 style naval tactics, I think a task force of two Perseus escorts and three capital ships (cruisers and battleships) could do well in Days of Doom, Tzenkethi Front, and the patrol where you escort the Gelki through a gauntlet of Hirogen hunter ships.
In the chat window, right click on CHAT, select channels tab, in the join/create blank type in TOS Era Players, click join.
The channel is up and running. I have had discussions with four others so far. Feds and Klingons. Hopefully it will grow as more join and we can connect to do some TOS themed activities.
I do signal tests when I am in the game to see who is on the channel.
Be warned, you will probably get the urge to go to K-13 to buy Fleet 23c gear.
I managed to get a Reliant to look somewhat reasonably like a TOS ship, though the Centaur nacelles are still not quite right and the struts are way too bulky.
a fairly easy way to get the TOS vibe is with a klingon toon and a T5U fleet K'tinga. Fairly cheap compared to the other options and competitive to T6. There are guides on how to make your toon look like a 23rd century Klingon too. I love it.

True, I did that with one of my KDF captains in fact.
The weird part is that TOS Klingon uniforms are the only TOS uniforms ingame that are free (the captain and starter boffs from the AoY start scenario get TOS uniforms but no new ones can get them after you get to 2409 without paying for an unlock in the cash shop). I don't have any fleet ships at all though so I don't have the D7.
