It's a cool ship. You can even get a look a the bridge (but no actual bridge interior to visit).
Still need to figure out how I can boost EPG further so I can make a Gravity Well / Scatter Volley build. Having Dual Commanders is unusual.
I do that with my Maquis raider with just GW1. It works, but its not as good in either area as either type of build focused on one or the other. It is a lot more fun and interesting though.
Yeah - that's what concerns me. Although this ship could probably throw science powers around pretty well, it doesn't have a secondary deflector and it just feels more tactical-orientated.
And I don't really want to be a Sci char pretending to be a Tac char.
I actually have the ship on a tactical character, my Mara Jade clone. It's a very off-brand ship, and you could probably put it into Star Wars without raising too many eyebrows (still think the warp engine outriggers are kinda suspicious), so it's a neat fit. But she definitely is a tactical captain, so it will always be a lot of "pretend". (A Star Wars character pretending to be a Star Terk character pretending to be a Science Vessel Captain in a Tactical Vessel?). I'll have to see what I come up with.
But, i would note that I see basically no reason to use any Commander Level Pilot powers or to use any Commander Level Engineering Powers, and 2 Tactical Commanders seems like you run into a lot of shared cooldowns. So Science really seems the best choice for that slot, even if I can't fully support it with secondary deflector, consoles or maxed out aux power. Even a low damage gravity well can still pull a lot of foes into your firing arcs.
Star Trek Online Advancement: You start with lowbie gear, you end with Lobi gear.
Lots of people like escorts or even cruisers with LTC sci to toss out a GW 1 for grouping as it is. Being able to do GW3 is a fantastic upgrade. GW3 is, with all other stats equal, a huge improvement over GW1, bigger radius, bigger pull, bigger damage. Now, if you want to do significant exotic damage, that adds a layer of complication, but just as a pull/group tool, then its a lot easier to build for since you only need control.
And you can augment that with some other tools, a trait like press the advantage, the emission torpedo, and possibly very cold in space and/or coolant ignition to really lock enemies down, then pew pew away.
And another ship well beyond my league since I seldom spend actual money on this game. The chances of actually getting the ship are probably about as bad as those Phoenix Boxes bought with dil. Between my various characters I must have opened at least 500+ boxes by now and have never gotten a gold or super rare purple types.
But, I get phoenix upgrade tokens for my dil/phoenix boxes which are very useful to me in upgrading my gear so that's not a waste. I couldn't imagine dropping zen (or the zen gotten from my monthly stipend) on R&D boxes or lockboxes.
