Silly Idea For Event [Picard: Spoiler]

crm14916crm14916 Member Posts: 1,534 Arc User
So, I haven't actually seen any of Picard except for what has shown up on YouTube. The final "battle" where Riker shows up with his fleet had a hundred or more of the same ship... My thought/idea was that there are thousands of us captains in STO, wouldn't it be cool if Riker contacts us in-game and offers or captain a top secret ship to join him, and we are all in those other ships...

Kind of a way to explain that there are bunches of these captains who have advanced quickly... And we get to keep the ship afterward...

Dunno if that made any sense, but hey... It's there...

It wouldn't work like that. Picard takes place in 2399, which is by this point 12 years from where we are in STO.

    11, we're still stuck in 2410.

    Incorrect.

They specifically mentioned its 2411 in "Measure of Morality"

Finally? Well, guess I missed that. ONly took them 10 years to do so.

Just stop with the 'incorrects' already. Make your point without that condescending line, i.e., everything past that line. It comes off like this.

    Also incorrect.

The game began in 2409, we got the first mention of 2410 when "Surface Tension" released in April 2014, and we got the transition from 2410 to 2411 when the anniversary dropped this year.

So it was 4 years and 2 months from game launch 2409 to 2410, and 5 years and 10 months from 2410 to 2411.

Incorrect. The Lukari Arc and Future Proof all happens in 2410. The Dev's had said they wanted the Lukari Arc to kick off 2411, but Beyond the Nexus roots it in 2410, as 2410 was the next time time it show up. This won't happen again for another 34.7 years. Future Proof itself states in the missions, "Returning to present time: 2410."

Now the arcs following these could possibly be in 2411, but, we don't know. Cryptic is not very good at including dates in the missions.

And as somtaawkhar said, Measure of Morality states that it happens in 2411. This is the only episode we have that states it's 2411.

I thought at least one 2411 stardate pops up in the intel reports you read through in Quark's Lucky Seven.

Possible. But I never took the time to convert the dates there to see if they were an actual date, or just a bunch of random stardate numbers. If it's the latter, the reports could be anywhere from 9999BC to 9999AD.

Yup. Every story mission from Measure of Morality on will be in 2411.

Wow, I thought I had an idea here... Hundreds of the same ship, hundreds of players with the same ship... Temporal mechanics wouldn't be an issue in this game... But what instead? 12 posts about nothing...

Oh well... It was worth a try...

I heard CBS All Access was gifting FREE a month subscription to Americans using the code GIFT; I think it only valid tho thru to the 4/23rd. A little more INFO can however be found here as Patrick Stewart also spoke of it on one of his BLOG sites as well.

SPACE: Link to Free CBS All-Access GIFT code

I hope that anyone who has the time or interest in the series will certainly consider this free offer while it lasts. o:)
