Still no Sound in PC version of Start Trek OnLine

I have seen several Post for no sound Issue for this game. Been going on for months, if not years.

STILL no fix or solution?

I'm playing on Windows 10. It USED to play sound fine, but when I tried the game again after a break, I am getting no sound. The game was reinstalled. It found my old account just fine, but no sense in playing if I can't get any sound.

It is hard to believe that they left a NO SOUND Issue on the Windows 10 Platform.

I guess this game is totally dead? - No support or maintenance being done at all?

    I use Windows 10 and I can hear the sounds...even turn off my speakers when playing. Hubby does not like the noise.

    Kaithan is on the right track... Settings on the computer. Make sure STO is using the right path to the correct speakers or headset you are using. I am not sure where to look for details like that and usually Google around for it. Maybe some one more computer savvy will see this and help.

    Also, disable any other programs that run when STO is running... especially music or movies or TV, which use audio. See if that helps.

    That happened to me a few times while listening to music on YouTube when playing STO. I end up having to reset the computer to get audio going again.

    Also, if you're using Winamp in game, stop, it's no longer supported or for that matter turn off any media player if selected in the Options/Audio tab. Double check the audio output as well as the game may have not have auto detected correctly.

    Hey, I had this issue and tried the existing suggestions found on here and the web. The solution i found on Windows 10 was in the Speakers Properties. Right-click the speaker icon Sounds>Playback tab>Click on your default Speakers and go to Properties>Enhancement Tab>Uncheck Disable all sound effects. I'm unsure why that was checked off but unchecking it made STO sounds work again! I hope this helps anyone still playing without sound 2022 and beyond!
