Yesterdays exchange shopping was freaking awesome !!
From what I saw, most of the online players selling their Borg lock box items maintained a fairly reasonable price range for a very huge selection of Borg lock box items including the T6 ship. This allowed me to do yet another dedicated full TV / Movie build for my collection.
If you were one of those low priced sellers, THANK YOU !!!
i know i sold my ship as soon as I got it from the free keys. Saw on the market prices for the jugg at 900-1b and laughed to myself. Yeah right, a lock box ship worth this? ha, sold it for like 750M it vanished quickly and said to myself. "In two weeks, three wekeks maybe for weeks this ship will be worth 400-600M and i will have made a profit while going back and getting it for cheap might as well get a nice little pay day while its hot.
Checked the prices and its slowly falling. seening them at 725 and falling so who knows maybe in two weeks i can get it for 4-5.
Though i am waiting more for an explination for the hero ship traits and builds and might just invest in those.

Well this is smiley news. I saw the universe class on there for like 2 billion and lost a lot of faith in using the exchange.
Well the universe is an infinity class ship though 2B is waaaaaay too much for that ship. Buy a infinity t6 token for 1.1 1.2 maybe even 1B and have them choose that specific ship for you. Save yourself some scratch, but if that's the case there are better far better ships in there as well so make sure you do your homework then choose
just out of curiosity OP, how much did you pay for your borgernaut since you say you got one? like, what did you consider a 'reasonable price'? i managed to sell one for 750m early this morning, and i actually discounted a small amount from the rest that were posted to ensure a faster sell, but i know 750m is above the normal average for a lockbox ship, even one this popular - i got lucky twice - once for actually pulling it and once for managing to sell it at the price i did
A normie goes "Oh, what's this?"
An otaku goes "UwU, what's this?"
A furry goes "OwO, what's this?"
A werewolf goes "Awoo, what's this?"
"It's nothing personal, I just don't feel like I've gotten to know a person until I've sniffed their crotch." "We said 'no' to Mr. Curiosity. We're not home. Curiosity is not welcome, it is not to be invited in. Curiosity...is bad. It gets you in trouble, it gets you killed, and more importantly...it makes you poor!"

I paid 800M within 4 hours of release. Prices ranged pretty steady early on at 910M all the way to 1.3B and I jumped on the first one I saw posted around the 770M to 790M range I was initially praying for. I could have waited a little longer to get one hours later at 760M, but I was happy just to get one secured early on.
If I waited until today at the time of this post, I would have only saved around 25M to 35M with the current market prices at 775M (until someone dips below that). For as much EC exchange grinding as I do in-game, I can totally live with that
I am glad you were able to get your ship, but honestly.. no one was being generous. They sold you the ship for what the market dictated it's worth. The honest truth is it's not a 'highly desirable' ship and I would expect the price to continue to fall. I agree with @lasonio, I expect this ship to sit right in that 500M range once all the 'newness' wears off.
Either way, I am glad you were able to get the ship you wanted, that's great!

Things are always sold at the prices that the market dictates.
Which is why I never get the complaining. If more players opened lock boxes, they might actually notice how most items sell for much less than what it's worth in terms of Zen spent to obtain the items (ie, how most people selling lockbox items actually lose out because they spent more to obtain those items).
And of course, prices would then quickly drop too.
It's great that the OP got his stuff at what he considers a good price. But there are no wrong prices and even if there were, they're at best wrong for the sellers, generally speaking, not in the sense that there is manipulation going on.

Prices on the Exchange are subjective, meaning their value may not be accurately reflective of their actual value versus perceived value, hence a 2 billion hypo on the Exchange. However, for each one of us the price becomes objective once we purchase/sell it & that of course can change from sale to sale.
I still think there's ongoing inflation in STO, most things becoming more expensive, across most of the currencies & Cryptic can manage/mismanage this by resource allotment. Charging the same or more but offering less. For lockbox & Promo items however only 1 method gets them into the game & that's players buying them either to use or barter & for that I gotta applaud their courage for gambling. I'm still surprised this Borg Juggernaut wasn't Promo & only a lockbox.
it was probably lockbox because it's the least desirable of all borg ships - mainly because it isn't a 'real' borg ship, since it wasn't created by the collective, nor is it a simple geometric shape

Thanks … For something I've really wanted since launch, my biggest fear was the ship maintaining a steady price around 1.1B for the first couple of weeks since it's the new shiny in town - The other gear / traits / etc was just something to constantly watch to get the best possible deals on

Serious of course … At the time of this reply, the lowest one on the exchange is 750M … I'm sure in a few weeks it will drop down considerably, but I didn't want to wait that long because I can use that time to grind out more EC for the next batch of shiny new stuff

Whether it is an item from the Exchange, Mudd's, a gambling mechanic, or the C-Store if you're comfortable with the price that's what matters. What anyone else thinks shouldn't really matter & is in a far behind second place.

I take it.

that's the average market price; reasonable price range is a subjective thing - it varies from person to person
