According to the announcement, the Jellyfish is not supposed to have a secondary deflector. Is that on purpose?
I understand that subsystem targeting of a standard science ship was replaced by pilot maneuvers, but I don't see where the secondary deflector went. It doesn't have the experimental weapon of the tac focussed pilot ships either.
Without the secondary deflector (and with being a pilot ship, thus favoring engine power, and a ship with a high shield multiplier, thus favoring shield power) I feel the Jellyfish lacks a bit of exotic firepower.
Off topic, but need to ask. Will the Star Trek: Beyond Enterprise-A get a lock box treatment? And is it possible to make model parts interchangeable for those who own multiple versions of the Enterprise?

What's her name's staff is in the Lobi store from Beyond, JJVerse Kirk's dad's ship is in the current lockbox from ST 2009, and Darkess' survival jackets are also in the Lobi store. The latest version of Enterprise at the end of Beyond will show up in ST:Kelvin 4, so if there's a 'lockbox' treatment it will be around the time it's released (or SoonTM if it doesn't, maybe, may just end up being another R&D thing).
And here I thought it was going to be the 10th anniversary ship..
+1 to the suggestion that it should have a secondary deflector. It is a Promo ship, afterall. Otherwise, the console "might" be the only saving grace for what is, on paper, a pretty anemic offering.

The thing is a one man ship, slightly larger than a shuttlecraft. There's no room for a secondary deflector. That said, why anyone would want to own one (unless you're trying to collect every ship in the game) is beyond me.

They promote the long neglected crafting timesink and are a total waste of money thanks to the endeavours and endless tfo eventing that pump more R&D mats into the game than could possibly ever get used.

It was on the last roadmap for December, 'Command the Jellyfish' right below 'Unlock a new Fek'lhi ship' in the December slot.
I'm sure the Early 2020 Roadmap will give a hint to the next Anniversary ship, since it's in February.

So true... fortunately there are many excellent ships where you know the price (Zen) or for free (4 this year!)
So, uh, guys. Lemme get this straight. On top of being a promo pack ship--and thus one completely out of reach to a large percentage if not outright majority of the playerbase--the Jellyfish has no secondary deflector, sensor analysis, subsystem targeting, dual cannons, or raider flanking. Despite that being the defining combination of features of the "Scout" type, which this ship purports to be.
Um. Am I the only one thinking this is just a bit odd?
Just to point out something: Based on official sources, the Captain's Yacht (a shuttle) is 110ft long. The Jellyfish is 178ft long.
So why was it made a complete ship in the game?
If the proportions are respected (obviously, they aren't, I'm sure), and based on my experience on Tribble with the Franklin, every single beam firing effect should be bigger than the ship itself.
This is not the Jellyfish, this is a Jellyfish-x, just like the Kelvin!D4x was to the original Kelvin!D4. But shuttles don't sell and of course they wouldn't take the risk to make an attractive shuttle in an effort to give them more love.
This is a small craft, why is it being shoehorned into being a "full size" starship?
Oh, right, money. Nevermind.
Ship looks nice, stats seem odd, might have been something I would have gotten down the road for Zen. As it's in an RNG box, my interest goes from "maybe someday if I have extra Zen burning a hole in my virtual wallet" to "not even if I won a contest and this was the grand prize". I'd put it on the Exchange and make 1.5 bil off it. Or whatever it ends up going for. Account wide unlock or these types of ships may as well not even exist as far as I'm concerned.
Kudos for making the ship look really great. That is something that has always been a big plus with this game, and it's only gotten better over the years.
Hello. My name is iamynaught and I am an altaholic.
Sometimes its a victim of copy and paste it probably has a secondary deflector. Its kind of like the intel ships where they copy and paste from the federation version and explains how your federation intel ship comes standard with a cloak and then below it where someone else put the stats it says battle cloak.
Although I remember someone in another thread betting this would be in a promo pack roflmao. Although I'd rather them put in a second option to get these ships through the epic phoenix pack drops as well which they could account bound those. If I have to spend dilithium on something the upgrades are worth far more than the lobi to me so it would be great to actually get something I actually want with those epic drops.
To be honest, every time I see these new Promo ships, I only have one opinion: Why did the Devs waste their time creating a new ship nobody will ever get?
Well, it's not strictly true, somebody will get it, but only if they want to spend a lot of real world dollars over the limited duration of the promotion on R&D packs for the exclusive porpoise of getting this ship.
So my personal opinion is that the Devs should stop making these exclusive ships and find something else more constructive to add to the Star Trek Online experience, something that will be enjoyed by more then a minuscule fraction of the playerbase.
Bees like honey, they don't like vinegar.

Yep, only the horders will benefit....though I hope they end up with a pile of ship boxes no one will buy, since I despise horders.
No, thanks. I'll pass. Willfully and with malice aforethought placing this ship(?) behind a less than 0.00001% chance to acquire it shows just how out of touch Sales and Marketing at Cryptic is with both their potential and current customers.
Couple this to the fact you made a Science shuttle into some sort of Pilot based escort without any Science abilities shows just how out of touch the Dev Team is with both Star Trek and the playerbase. It is at best a one man starship or shuttle. Which is canon. Go watch the bloody film next time before you so proudly display your complete lack of knowledge of Star Trek in such an obvious and distressing manner.
Had you put the thing into the Lobi Store, I might have purchased it. But since you're attempting another pass at my wallet this way, the digital version of Three Card Monty, I would not own this ship on a dare.
A six year old boy and his starship. Living the dream.
Like it or not, promo ships keep the game alive. There is no point complaining over and over in every thread.
It's always the same tired lot.. if you guys spent as much time building up your in game resources as you do complaining you would have everything you could ever want and more.
The odds are 1:100 with an R&D Promotion. Take a look at the released specs. It has all the typical Science stuff, Secondary Deflector, Sub-System Targeting, Sensor Analysis, 5 Science Consoles, Commander Science with the rest Universal. With all the other goodies packed in, you've got a heck of a Science Ship.

True, it has the deflector and science abilities now. It didn't when the specs were originally released yesterday. Looks quite a bit better now.

I dont see that in its discription.. I assume it has one as the rest fits in line with other scout ships

Secondly, go back and watch Star Trek (2009) - I'll wait whilst you do that...

...done yet? Good.
You'll notice in this scene:
So, please explain why this isn't a Shuttle, or Runabout-equivalent. After all, it's about the same size as a shuttle.
So why was it made a complete ship in the game?
