This will get me to buy some miracle worker ships. I really liked the look of the Romulan ones. The fed ones not so much and I don’t really play my Romulan toons anymore. Just can’t bring myself to get specialization point on more than a few toons.
Something that would get me to play one of my Romulan again is being able to use the fed lifetime ship on one. Last time I tried I could only get the Romulan bird thing. Don’t get me wrong I’m sure there are a few people that love to get inside old Toucan Sam and ride him around, but I can’t bring myself to do it. At least not until they make it so the wings flap up and down in sector space. As somebody pointed out being able to have my Romulans wear their allied faction outfits would go a long way here also.
I hope this means a major change in C-Store ship production.
The design concept in which they create a KDF, a FED, and a ROM ship which are essentially identical no longer makes much sense. The 3pack made sense when you were hoping that people had all three factions. With Romulan ships no longer being Romulan-only, there's very little reason for someone to buy the 3pack. You can buy 2 ships and all 3 factions will have access to them.
This being the case, here's what I'd like to see happen.
A total change in the way C-Store ships are done. Drop the 3 identical ships concept entirely. Rotate the three factions. FED gets a ship, then KDF, then ROM. The FED ships will serve 2 factions, the KDF ships will serve 2 factions, and the ROM ships will serve all 3 factions. Doing this would free up design space as they wouldn't constantly be creating 3 ships. And then, I'd add a 4th piece to the cycle. Non-aligned ships. These would be ships that were available to all 3 factions and would allow them to do unusual things from time to time. I've always thought it strange that there were no non-aligned ships in the C-Store.
Does this do anything to help with emersion? Nope. That's dead. Let's embrace it and move on to making what's left better.
buy this ship is a waste of money, the valdore console is totally useless.
Categorically false.
It's an excellent console.
matter of opinion.
2.5% chance to heal shields when doing pew pew.
if tac consoles became universal... folks would be flying with 11 tac consoles.
Yes, but if you do it right, that 2.5% trigger should heal ALL your shield. Like all facing...to max. And unlike other procs, this is per shot so it basically triggers all the time. This console lets you ignore all shield heal abilities and just use that. No, really, it is OP as all hell assuming you are in an energy weapon build and did not fail at doing it. Even if all consoles became uni, this is one I would stick on all my energy weapon warbirds.
Exactly right.
I get that some players would drop a console like this in favor of a more damage oriented one, I have done this as well.. but if you're looking to build a more well rounded build with some survivability, the Valdore console is crazy good. Is it the best console in the game? no.. does it suck? absolutely not. For something that comes on a T4 ship, it's a really good console.
Even with KDF and FED factions being able to use ROM ships, the Romulans still got the better of this tech exchange. Aside from ROM ships currently being inherently weaker energy and durability wise to captains of other factions, this exchange gave Romulans access to many times the amount of ships that the FED or KDF gained access to. This, all told, is just the price for what is effectively the Romulans' Louisiana Purchase.
Besides Admiralty, the only reason I'll use this option is to have my Vulcan fly the Vulcan/Romulan hybrid Multi-Mission Science Ships, so she can have a T6 ship that has some Vulcan flavor to it.

As far as your thinking goes, I think you're confusing something here. I think you are thinking that if you buy a Federation ship and a Romulan ship, then all the factions can use them. Technically speaking, 3 of the 4 can. Federation and Klingon characters are still restricted that they can fly their own ships, Romulan and Jem'hadar Vanguard ships, but not all faction ships.

As I said above, Jem'hadar/Dominion faction also exists.
Unlike the situation we had with the the Romulans and the expansion to 3 ship packs, they aren't quite going back to fill out Jem 'hadar ships for say the Command Battlecruisers, Miracle Worker cruisers, Pilot ships, or the Multi-Mission Science vessel packs. As of right now, the Jem'hadar are the only faction that do not have their own full spec Intel, Command, Pilot or Miracle worker ships. Temporal used to be included, but they got that now. There are people who want both Jem'hadar and Romulan ships to be produced more.

I love the multi missions ships on all factions - they are quite nicer than they give you the impression when reading their stats. For Vulcan themed you may like the Vulcan scout too

The Vulcan Scout is a nice little ship, though it does not look or seem particularly Vulcan besides being a science ship, and it is not available anymore since it has not made its way into phoenix boxes yet. On the other hand, the c-store Surhuelh does look at least partially ENT style Vulcan with its engine ring and a few other cues, and it has an aux-powered plasma canon that helps spread the load out (which can be a nice thing with singularity cores, especially since science oriented sets usually have a core that boosts aux).
I would like to try out my scimitar on my fed but then I will need to get the singularity version of their warpcore and get it to epic, I'm not sure if I want to do that even with one of my epic upgrades I have been stockpiling for my sci toons build.

Just grab and Ultra Rare Fleet Singularity and roll with that.. not like you need your Core to be fully maxed out. Even at Mark XII it's not like it's going to tank your build, and they're certainly cheap enough.
I'm partial to the Thoron-Infused AMP core from the spire myself.
If there is an uptick of Romulan ships being purchased/used, would that lead to the devs creating more Romulan based content?
And does it really matter whom flies what? I mean, you don't really interact with other players in pvp matches, you only see their ship. Yes, you do see a small avatar of their character on the team stats, but that's it. The only big change I feel will be more Romulan ships outside of ESD.
You're missing the fact they have the largest unique storyline amongst all the factions, with more episodes than JH, DSC, ToS and 2409 feds combined. Klingons have the next biggest arc.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

Actually the Jem'Hadar do all 5 main specializations covered with ships the other 4 are part of the ViL mega pack. The Carrier has intel, the cruiser has command, the heavy raider has Pilot, and the warship has MW.
Well, I did my Endeavors earlier today so I was planning on running an Episode on my Discovery Character tonight. First I thought I would claim the Admiralty Cards for all the Romulan Ships for that Character. It took so long I didn't have time to run the Episode. We really do need a better way to get those Cards.

I'm enjoying it so far too - I'm finally using the Aelahl that I got as part of that charity bundle with the Mirror Guardian and the Mat'ha (I think) years ago. I'd kept meaning to level a Rommie character to make use of it before, but never quite got around to it.
I'm now kinda regretting that because I'm really enjoying the ship, both looks and performance wise. I'll probably level the standard version to get the trait, then upgrade to the Fleet version.
As I said on page 2, they appear to have forgotten the mirror ships even exist. Romulans still can't claim their ally's mirror ships, either, over a year after everything else was enabled.
I verified it last night, you can open the Romulan Mirror ones. I did so on my Discovery Character last night. What was missed is putting those Romulan Mirror Ships as visible/selectable in the Infinity T5 Selection Pack.

Well good for Feds, then.
Romulans are still unable to open the Fed mirror ships at all.

There's actually 4 factions total. Federation, Klingon, Romulan & Jem'hadar.
