Subspace Eddy console can't be equipped on any other pilot escort

I bought the ajax ship to get the subspace eddy console. It says it can be put on any pilot escort but when I try to equip it to any ship other than the ajax it says class requirements not met. I sent in a ticket with screenshots and they said this is a bug and to report it here.
