t6 coupon disappeared out of inventory after logging out

Completed project that awarded t6 coupon, right clicked, marked it as a protected item, and then had to run to work, expecting it to stay in my inventory until I had some time to actually look through the ships. Next time I went looking for it, the coupon was gone. I had not used it, and I had not sold or discarded it. It just disappeared.
