Potential bug related to accounts interacting with Promo R&D Boxes

I first want to thank GM Zildross for the response to my in-game ticket and the suggestion to post here as a way to investigate, and their statement that it may be a bug worth investigating. Even if it is nothing, it is a good indication of the care that the GM's and the development team put into this game.
This is related to opening a high quantity of the recent R&D Promo Boxes (50+ boxes and $80 spent) and receiving only a Research & Development Box and a handful of lobi in return. I am not sure if this is by design and simply a major string of bad luck and a loss of money, or a potential bug related to how an account may interact with the Promo itself.
The original ticket is as follows:
"I am unsure if it is appropriate to request assistance in this, but I figured it wouldn't hurt. Over the course of the new R&D Promo, I spent roughly $80 on boxes as well as some from the exchange and have received nothing. I'm not sure if this is by design or if my account is somehow interacting with the promo system in a faulty way.
Is it possible to be opening boxes but the system is not recognizing my account as interacting with the promo? I.E. a bug?
Thank you for any possible assistance. Losing money is a distressing prospect."
