New Romulus mission progression

Before the most recent "streamlining" of the mission progression, there were two mission "threads" on New Romulus that ran roughly in parallel. One was instances tied to the area ("Warehouse", "Mountain Base", "Overgrown Cave", etc.), and the second with the overall New Romulus Story ("Hidden Camera", "Secret Shuttle Codes", "Web Access", etc.) which more often than not, was could be completed only by going into the area instance.

It used to be standard procedure to pick up both the area and story missions and run them together ("Mountain Base" + "Secret Shuttle Codes"; "Overgrown Cave" + "Web Access"). Now the story mission only unlocks after one has completed the area instance, meaning having to replay the instance to complete the story mission.

This strikes me as unnecessarily redundant and not especially streamlined. Perhaps the Story Mission could be converted into a Mission Objective in the area instance to further simplify?

Yes, in my opinion it's a mess.

In a related non accurate note, while I tried to complete NR "area", line and reputations in the "right" way, some of my newer chars allegedly didn't complete in the exact way the game "wanted", so while they have the reputation rewards and completed the line successfully, I think MOST of my characters (and not the oldest ones) didn't have access to the transportation system's quest. (they are not stuck and do have all the transportations but no longer were automatically "bestowed" the transportation system mission and now it's too late for them to get the quest, it seems)

Note that this line, area and related Journal parts have undergone many changes through the time and many questing/joining instances' style changes and that way multiple play style were possible and progress could be bugged in multiple ways and multiple time.

I'd recommend Cryptic to fix this by "bestowing" the transportation system's quest upon all characters which are unable to get or complete it as accidentally somehow skipped through it or took all the transportation points already, and having it completed if all transportations points were unlocked on NR too.

Basically I think AT LEAST all who had finished the NR line (say, including the quest in line and reputation quests) and still hadn't that quest done, and ofc also not having it on available/in progress tab too, should get this quest automatically (by a Cryptic's suggested fix as written here) and even having it completed in case all transportation points already unlocked, to avoid issue with ground alert not working on such chars.

Note: I think this quest is somewhere down along the lay on hand's quest/accolade's line. (edited the post since some points were not clear)

I saw that too, but it pales in comparison to the requirement in the first place. On a Fed or KDF toon you get to New Romulus about lvl 30, but can't start the rep grind til lvl 50... so it's like it encourages you to do the Solanae ark before completing New Rom, which feels backwards considering the reveals.

Press "Skip" so that you can do both missions in the same run.

Sadly, that would not fix my missing transportation quest issue / being unable to join (ground) alerts on NR on multiple chars - I've finished all what was available, including reps and their quests and line quests, having all transport points unlocked, yet not being able to use the alerts' site to site transport since the transportation quest was never received.

I even wonder if skipping that way (or collecting all transportation points initially before any transportation system quest) actually was involved in causing the issue, but this I don't really know.

Still, thanks, it's a useful info here.

And back to the topic - either way, streamlined it was not, in my opinion.
