Yes, my original statement, as well as my sig, do simplify things in order to get a message across, but this thread has worked out what the actual issue is, I believe.

Yeah and we figured out what the actually issue was last year...and the one before that...

Yep. And yet, you guys keep talking about how those high DPS values are due to "skill", and have nothing to do with gear.

Gear is the cause of the high DPS numbers. Players had skill before the broken OP gear, and DPS numbers were much, much lower.

We are not saying high DPS has nothing to do with gear. We are saying gear is only a small part [...]

I am saying you should provide the proof you promised.
I did post proof by describing to you how I did it [...]

    :smiley::smiley::smiley:
Asking me to post a video of how mine volleys hit ships is like asking someone to post a video of how FAW or scatter volley kills 3 ships. That is not something that requires proof, its common knowledge. Why do I need a video when basic maths shows how it works while also showing gear does not matter?

Are you saying you do not believe 5+ mine volleys can instantly kill those Klingon reinforcements in 1 second as they arrive? Because if you are then I would suggest you give it a go yourself as it proves gear does not matter over player skill. This is pure proof gear does not matter over player skill and its proof DPS doesn't arrive from gear and gear alone.

Do you really not believe mines can wipe out those Klingon reinforcements in 1 second? Have you never seen mines instantly wipe out reinforcements? I am just shocked I need to make such a simple video over a common game machinic because an experience player has never seen it. Surly you are aware of how easy it would be to make a video of this? Why would anyone need to post a video to prove it?

EDIT: When you have a large mine field out, there is zero DPS difference between the gear and quality of the gear against those Klingon reinforcements. The only impact on DPS is player skill not the gear. It doesn't matter if you use MK V, IX, X or XV the result is the same as gear doesn't matter. If you do not believe this then post proof on how gear matters with mines for killing those Klingon reinforcements. I have seen zero evidence or proof that gear matters for this. The only impact on DPS is player skill. Which is why I am a fan of the Buran Class as playing like this bypasses its limitations.

This thread seems to have derailed completely off of discussing the Buran, and become a circular argument about DPS in general that is no longer going anywhere. So, return to the thread topic, or we can just close this discussion.

We are not saying high DPS has nothing to do with gear. We are saying gear is only a small part of it and there is more than just gear involved. Gear alone is not as important as skill. The DPS impact from skill is massively higher than the DPS impact from gear. You need both but gear is not the most important part.

As my post before proves gear alone is not the cause of high DPS numbers. I got those high DPS numbers unrelated to the quality or rank of the gear.

You presented your arguments well and convincing. I think he understands but is just unhappy about the state of the game where he needs to do his homework in order to do as good as others who do that. He needs to let it out on us who manage just fine and who are happy. What he does not understand and most likely never will is the wonderful expereince that our skill, the crazy stuff we can do, even grows when we have better gear at our disposal. The same as you can do so much more with a smartphone than with a morse apparatus. Skill is what you make out of either of which. That the whole thing is not about the basics anymore so neither just about comunication or getting ISA "beaten" should be obious to everybody who aplied his first tech upgrade. :)

Feel free to close the thread. Think everything about the Buran has been said and the OP did not post here in some time.

Please close it Baddmoon. That guy is just picking fights for the sake of picking fights now. Doing everything he can to refute everything but his point of view and calling everyone who doesn't agree with him delusional and "must be shown the light".

So getting back on topic with a small bridge to the new upcoming reputation, does anyone else feel the Buran was designed with the Stamets and Tilly’s Ingenuity space set in mind?

The Buran is very bulky with lots of hull and shield and that space set seems to be focused on giving bulky vessels some extra teeth.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
