I definitely need clarification on the romulan revamp. I've not long started a new romulan for recording purposes (along with a new character for the other factions too) wont be much point in getting too deep if some of the early republic stuff gets changed.
Unless article 13 destroys my ability to make videos anyway.
romulan story arc update? maybe we can finally axe tovan khev. Ive tried demoting him off my bridge but he's always there. ALWAYS there. ive got an airlock for officers who sit in spots above their station. and maybe the arc will focus more on our captain and his journey not "The ballad of Tovan and Rhinna Khev"
Earn tokens over multiple featured TFOs to unlock coupon for a ship.
"Any" zstore ships. Account unlock as usual with store ships.
These coupons will also be used to create a gifting system so you can gift ships.
Reason to play I guess...though I don't really see much practical difference between that and earning dil to trade for Zen.
Ships leveling with you
All T6 ships will level with you
Looking into price changes for T1-T5 ships since T6 ships will be usable from start to finish. No details/plans in motion right now.
Exactly as expected.
Although, after they reduce all the old ships into basically just delivery boxes for Admiralty cards (and a few useful consoles), I would like to see them finally implement means to claim ship cards (and if possible, consoles) without having to pull&dismiss all the ships one by one.
New Halloween Festival
Announced that work has begun on a new Halloween Festival. No real details yet other than they are looking at 'Catspaw' TOS episode for inspiration. Dividian haunted castles, and things like that. Featured TFO with festival most likely.
Awesome!
Looking into making events using battlezones/adventure zones and updating older content.
Plans to remaster more TFOs based on player feedback.
Could be good, could be bad, depending on just what they mean with "player feedback." I would like to be excited about all the great possibilities...real challenge, unique rewards, reason to play. But based on past history, I can't help but expect the coming of more boring auto-win timed waiting missions and choose-all spoilmarks to appease the "everything is always too hard" -brigade.
Dedicated EV suit slot in the works for player+boffs. When done, more EV suit content.
For T5, all are free T5Uable. Lately some sales have come with a free Token for each ship anyway.

I'm thinking that the zen ship token thing, will be like the WoW Token, or other games with cash shop tokens. But, knowing Crytpic, since they're going to be earned, it'll b in increments of like 100 zen. They're saying as a way to "gift" other players ships. So.. I expect these to be unbound, at least able to trade them. If unbound completely, I expect they'll hit the exchange, prob for the same price as master keys.
Some of this stuff really sounds exiting, could turn out badly though. I am really on the fence about leveling T6 ships which will sideline the minor tiers even more. Well, I'll still get my consoles and admiralty cards from them.
As for Helloween: really looking forward to a new event. While I guess it won't be summer/winter size, it's hopefully not a collection grind as anniversary. Also, the Helloween episode shouldn't go before all my toons have the zombie dance (I guess it'll stay for friday 13th though).
But most of the stuff I'd really like to see before I pass judgment, some great potential though. Also, confirmed duration of STO content is good news.
Oh, and while I don't particularily care for DSC, I think the missions are well made and enjoyable, so I'd be a bit sad to let it go. Then again, Lukari/Tzen was mostly good as well, Gamma had great stuff, Iconian got really good in the end, so they're on a roll, probably it isn't DSC and everything else will be fine as well.
(And as for "Seasons": I don't care what the stuff is called. From my POV every episode could be called a "season")
My mother was an epohh and my father smelled of tulaberries
Hopefully, we'll still be able to run 'Hearts and Minds' or get another non-Phoenix method to obtain Doctor Sibak (clone) and the Zombie Dance Emote. (Discovery Characters don't have that yet).

Honestly its about frickin' time we got some kind of Halloween event. Hearts and Minds... gets rather stale.
Well, they can still have H&M available for Friday the 13ths.

All players should get a T6 ship while leveling considering you occasionally get people with unupgraded T5 ships in advanced and elite queues and most of the time its something like the galaxy which does almost no dps to anything in the TFO and tends to force the other players to work harder to make up for them
T6 ship does not necessarily automatically mean "Huge DPS"
T5-U can do considerable DPS in the hands of a skilled player
I'm not talking about T5 U ships. I know T5 U ships can do good dps. What I'm talking about is how you have to physically buy an upgrade token for a T5 ship to make it competible and currently sometimes in advanced and elite queues you get people in a T5 unupgraded galaxy with only 40k health, 20k lower than even my weakest BoP and they die so often that it helps to ruin the TFO
urrently sometimes in advanced and elite queues you get people in a T5 unupgraded galaxy with only 40k health, 20k lower than even my weakest BoP and they die so often that it helps to ruin the TFO
Can't say I have ever seen anything like that in Elite.
Still, if anyone was actually dumb enough to join an Elite Queue in an under geared starter ship, then they probably have little to no understanding of what they're actually doing. Just putting them in a better ship isn't going to help any. I am not saying I am against the idea of a Free T6 for players, I actually like the idea, but as people have pointed out.. putting scrub players in a T6 ship isn't going to fix anything. In the hands of an inexperienced player, a T6 Galaxy in Hive Space Elite could survive maybe .05 seconds longer then a T5.
Bad players are bad players.. putting them in better ships honestly doesn't help.
The livestream was pretty good & full of information. I think Kael & the new head-cheese Andre briefly touched on the most recent patch notes which is also full of good news.
But, "Reputation projects to turn-in marks for Dilithium have been disabled and replaced by a new store, accessible from the Reputation UI once you reach Tier V in that reputation." this sucks imo.
Exactly what good or benefit does this add for players??? Let alone, Cryptic, you just screwed-over many by locking behind a wall some players & their marks. Not all Reps are good for players' styles nor classes. Cryptic did not lock it behind an accounts first Rep T5 achieved but for each character for each Rep. What ever happened to the sentiment of the account is the player & again what good does this restriction add???
Reads & it will act more like Cryptic is trying to restrict players' marks & dilithium & directing us to use content, Rep systems, that mightnot be worth the cost.
Hopefully, we'll still be able to run 'Hearts and Minds' or get another non-Phoenix method to obtain Doctor Sibak (clone) and the Zombie Dance Emote. (Discovery Characters don't have that yet).
Um...
"Hearts and Minds" has run at least once sine the AoD/MoD material has gone live. I know I've done it on my ST: D Character.

Expand Dil and Rep/Fleet Marks to regular story content

But your selfrighteous glasses back on, they're probably on your head, & learn to read yourself. Here it is copy & pasted, again, straight from the patch notes. "Reputation projects to turn-in marks for Dilithium have been disabled and replaced by a new store, accessible from the Reputation UI once you reach Tier V in that reputation." Try to notice the, "once you reach Tier V in that reputation." that is called a change which is more restrictive compared to the way it was before being able to covert marks prior. The only garbage is your reading comprehension. The actual conversion method is good I'd agree, but please try to read & stop stroking your own ego & read someone's post before spewing garbage.

lol now you're just moving goal-posts to try to feel better. Not all Reps serve as well for all play styles & classes so if I research & know I'm not going to use any of the items why level it up?
I wasn't insulting you, I was just pointing out your: "Learn to read, all they did was change it so that you can turn in any amout of marks for dill with a total of 3 clicks, nothing is restricted or any of that garbage." was incorrect & that you should do the same you advise others to do hence selfrighteous. Good effort though just lousy execution by you. It's more restrictive & wasn't needed.

Heard of Daily Bonus for the Marks? If I'm playing trying to accumulate Marks or dilithium, at least with the previous turn-in method, why would I keep playing content to earn lesser marks? And for the reps I was planning to level-up yes I save those & invest into the Rep.
Before T5 nobody should be using Marks for anything but levelling the Rep, spending them on Dill is idiotic. As for ypur insults, you aint worth my time.
According to one facebook poster, they kept 1 main and 6 alts specifically for farming Dilithium. This guy had no intention of ever leveling their reps up since there was no need to. He stated that this move not only killed the game for him, but will also kill the game down the line for STO as a whole.
Believe me, I feel its a load of rubbish. The guy was just too lazy to level up his alt reps, especially when you consider that the grind is about 3 weeks per each of them, if he runs enough content to grab the marks needed.

People obviously just want one of those idle clicker games for gathering dilithium.
Besides... there's always major events and stuff that also give mark choice boxes if you're that lazy.
Kinda funny... literally nothing Cryptic does is free of crtiticizm. Even a QoL thing like this that makes it a lot easier to convert marks into DL.
I've been around long enough to see a lot of things get called "STO's Doom". We're still here.
What clarification do you need, @nrobbiec ? They've gone back and done new animations and voiced the entire arc.
if that's all they have done then this will be a disappointing redo. They need to redo the complete story for LoR. As is it's literally "The Ballad of Tovan and Rhinna Khev" with nothing overall about my captain. Fed story arc its about my charater, not my first officer. Id love to see The Ballad of Tovan and Rhinna Khev go for another reason -so I can axe Tovan Khev from my crew. He's not even a SRO so at this point he's completely useless.

We're not talking about the Romulan specific missions. We're talking about the Romulan Mystery arc available to Feds and KDF that starts with Sela's attack on Vulcan and I believe finishes with our attack on a Tal Shiar base and taking out Hakeev. You know... the arc right after the Fed-Klingon War arc.
Hopefully, we'll still be able to run 'Hearts and Minds' or get another non-Phoenix method to obtain Doctor Sibak (clone) and the Zombie Dance Emote. (Discovery Characters don't have that yet).

Wow, hyperbole much by said poster? I don't know how many players there are only farming dil (also without doing reps) compared to those just playing the game, but seeing that you can buy zen with dil, some other people apparently prefer playing over farming, otherwise they wouldn't spend the zen. So the whole game going under because of this is unlikely.
Also, Azrael and Warpangel are absolutely correct, if you get some marks in the first place, you should use them to level up rep first even if you don't care about anything said rep has to offer (abilities, gear) because it just pays more dil per mark than conversion. So any farmer worth his crop will do so. You will lose some Expertise points along the way though, if that's holding him back - but then he would be truly unique.
