There is probably an official feedback thread coming soon, but since I played it now and will have to retire soonish, I thought I give my first thoughts in the hope I haven't missed anything major (actually, I do hope I missed something):
As much as I liked Pahvo Dissension, as much am I underwhelmed by PoP. It offers less gameplay than Mirror Invasion but takes longer. Yes, it is easier to do, which may be a saving grace, but basically you just circle around the satellites and shoot at anything that moves, interrupted by a couple of generously timegated interacts. Also, while the last part offers the bonus of additional marks for kills, there seems to be nothing to shorten the queue. And it doesn't have a mini arc, so you don't even get a proper boss fight in the end, it's just "mirror forces appear, timer runs out, mirror forces disappear".
If I haven't overlooked a major plot twist or mechanic, I'll predict a lot of AFKing on this one, but I still have the hope that I did overlook something.
My mother was an epohh and my father smelled of tulaberries
its just Dranuur Gauntlet with different mobs. no effort on Cryptic s part to make a new TFO
On this I totally agree......but the hopeful part of me senses something BIG on the horizon.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.
It could have been more innovative, it is easier though. Although I think tacticals have it best; the satelites upgraded with tactical are FAR more powerful than the ones upgraded with the other two(engineer barrier upgrade seems to be as durable as an aluminum can, or cardboard, where-as tactical get torpedo spreads).
Thinking of ideas from lots of games for, dunno how long now.
As an actual mission it's "ok".
It's not too complex, I can blow up lots of things and make big explosions, my torp boat loves it.
BUT....
You get ZERO points from me for being lazy-TRIBBLE Devs and just copy-pasting Dranuur Gauntlet almost entirely onto a new "featured" mission. Honestly, there's even less effort put into this than just swapping the NPC tables over to Terran and putting a few different art assets in.
Geeezz, it's pretty low effort even by your own standards guys. You can do way better than this.
Ya, I'm also really disappointed with how lazy this "new" TFO is. With the level of quality that the story missions have had recently, I was expecting something way better than this.

I like it, itsi fast, and by the time a got to play, because of real life, well i like to know how much is going to take. Of course it would be better if we could shorten the time, but at least itsi not boring...

If this one sticks around... might be more popular than Dranuur Gauntlet due to mark choice box and less chance of running into certain annoying enemy groups.

Yet another "Mr. Ice Cream is on the Way" TFO/STF/Parkandcollectpayment to render older content obsolete. After all, why do Lukari TFOs, when you can just EssTeeDee them, whilst offering all the marks choices? Provisions? Cryptic put in automatic provision generation w/ the fleet colony holding. The elite widget? 100 marks, or roll the hourly rep box project dice to get that. It'll stick around.
I see it becoming popular for three weeks to Steelmax for easy payouts. It's what I would do, if I wanted to chomp on the bait for something that has no value to me.
If you love just blowing stuff up, it’s ok. Other than that, not much going on. If anything, lag is my biggest problem. Something like Tzekethii Red Alert is much more fun and interesting without being too difficult.
When I logged yesterday the comments in the public chats about the new map were already in full swing. I thought myself that things can’t be “as bad” but ended up purchasing the “buy out” pack even before the start timer elapsed. Lol, that map will not see me ever again. Judging from the last event map cryptic is still able to design very cool stages but this one raises three questions:
- Was it a 1st April prank put out too early? Sadly not!
- Wouldn’t no-event at all be a bit better than such an event? How about YES!!
- What in the world gave cryptic the idea that dranuur gauntlet would be the best map for the blueprint? C’mon it’s like the worst map in game and now we have TWO!!!

I guess that after the event there will be no more choice of all marks lik with other events.

Honestly I think this stf might have been developed on a quicker pace after the team realized the deadline for the event for it was closing in. They might have bitten off more than they could do with developing two stfs an a story mission as well in the time-frame they had. Or they might have gotten a request either for developing, or starting something else in the middle of the development of this stf (like kinda what happened with victory is life an discovery kinda). So they rushed out this stf in place of what they had meant to do.
Overall I don't mind the stf it has moments that are a let down, such as how the last stf you could actually speedup the stf via the performance of the group/player. Though the idea of the upgrading of the sats based on your career is interesting in concept, it would have been more interesting if the upgrades matter abit more. The enemies are not too strong, nor too weak for a stf that would have groups of players of varying power an skill/gear playing it. If the stf had different difficulties than it would be better to balance the difficulty abit more, or even just have it that the strength of the waves gets buffed between the last two time-gates based on how well you do in the first set of waves might be interesting.
Oh, look! It's Pahvo! Again...
It is better that Dranuur, though.
If they want to "pattern" a TFO after something that already existed, then give us a five-member version of Mine Trap.
The bright side is that I hate the Disco Klingons so thoroughly that exploding them to bits is fun, if rather banal.
Improved Gravity Well 3, Subspace Vortex 3, Fire Gravimetric Torpedo Spread, Tyken's Rift - Rinse and repeat. You can even carry the lazy afk trolls (had two of them last night).
its just Dranuur Gauntlet with different mobs. no effort on Cryptic s part to make a new TFO
I did it the first time yesterday, I totally agree with you.
I am very surprised by the developers this time. They just copy/paste Dranuur, changed few things and put the mission online. Sorry but this is a sloppy work, something that would never pass a quality control, unless they are trying to check what was wrong in Draanur.
On the positive side there are a couple of things, the mission is more doable than Draanur, the Klingon ships are "softer" and less than in Draanur. The waiting time is still too long.
Yep that one is somewhat cool. That’s why I thought 800 zen for the acc wide outfit + 1 ultimate upgrader is a bargain in light of this total fail of a map.

The development team should be ashamed of themselves.

Other than that ... It's just 'Dranuur Gauntlet' with a different skin.

its just another copy pease mechanics TFO
no love put in
just boring
the enemys are so weak I dont even need any buffs besides fire at will
pro tip: adding more HP to enemys wouldnt increase the fun either
