No Primary Fire on MACO Phaser Battle Rifle

Title says it all. Similar post in PC Bugs, it's on Xbox One too. My MACO rifle on multiple characters (obtained years apart now) will not fire primary firing mode at all. The icon cycles like it is firing, there is no graphical effect of a phaser beam, there is no damage on targetted enemy; however borg do adapt to phaser damage when shooting (not shooting?) them with this.
You dont need a reason to help people...

    I have the same problem. No primary fire at all. Nice to know I wasted dilithium and marks on a broken gun.
