I can deal with the lag but the missions that just kick me out (I'm looking at you Cold Storage) that cannot be completed are now beyond annoying.

There is another thread on this and a poster mentioned it might have do with Cogentco having an outage. Maybe those threads should be merged. My ISP is CenturyLink (USA) Thanks.
I've been noticing lag, thought it was just my connection. I've been noticing now for past week+ on all social ground Maps. Rubberbanding, slight delays in moving stuff in/out of inventory, and dare I try to slot a Fleet project or donate to some having to wait for it to "register" in system.
Even before this, I dread going into Random TFO and then it end up being Azure Nebula which for some reason has always been a laggy mess. Even with the best connection and no lag anywhere else in game, always seemed to be the one that would result in everyone experiencing some lag. There are a couple of others that also seem to be prone to it. But I can't remember which one off top of my head.
I have tested it with other MMOs and run perfectly. Basic speeds around 1Gig and only STO works horribly. Not in Europe but my PC is located in the close to the main server in California.
The lag has been increasingly getting worse since the last 5 hour server maintenance. Its bad and i have a 1gbit fiber connection. But i m glad they are upgrading or was it downgrading the servers....
C-Store Inc. is still looking for active members on the fed side. If you don't have a fleet feel free to contact me in game @stegi.
My ISP is Century Link also, with 40Mbps downlink and 7Mbps uplink. But this has been the same for a couple years, with the rubberbanding increasing the last few weeks; at least there have been fewer server kicks.

Cryptic has the laggiest servers and most SNR/disconnects of any game I play (I play about 7 MMO/shooters at any time). Sometimes when it has been really bad I run pings and traceroutes (https://support.arcgames.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4657/~/performing-a-traceroute-%28tracert%29) and have found that is indeed sometimes problems with Cogentco servers in Boston/Atlanta. There used to be a fairly sizeable thread on Diagnosing your Internet Connection with Cryptic but I think it disappeared when the forums moved to ARC.
That said, when the lag gets worse after patching (which it did), when none of your other games are affected by lag (which they aren't, ie., not my ISP), and when I can pop over to Neverwinter server (afaik, in the same location and using the same server paths through the internet) and experience virtually no lag or rubberbanding, then again, it's not my ISP, and not even Cryptics connection... it's the game.
Bell Canada is my isp, i never have had lag in this game, then Sompek failed to work my game has basically been broken. Rubberbanding everywhere. ESD is the worst. Can't even fly around. Some queues are worse than others.
I run 2 fleets and almost everybody is complaining of either terrible Lag/Rubberbanding or game Crashes. My Fleet co-leader and some other members have crashed today 6 times in 1 hour
It seems to be a problem with the game as it all started on the same day for almost everybody and each update patch has done nothing to fix it. I think it is a problem on the game's end with sending packets. It just seems unlikely that it is a problem on my end when everybody is complaining about the same thing.
BTW I did a speed and packet test and it seemed very consistent.
Only mild rubber banding which takes places mostly in social ground maps (space stations). I can kill of the dinosaurs with lasers on their heads without issue but can't access the exchange without bouncing back ten feet.
Also, missions are bugged since AOD dropped, just saying.

That actually made sense. Cause there is certain instances where its really bad, like Azura Nebula. I think there was a time not to long ago where it was virtually impossible to play because of the massive lag, for some reason though that lag is spreading all over the game now. They will not be able to fix it, if they do its temporary and it will be back by the next bigger update. Compared to other games, I can only say if it wasn't Star Trek they wouldn't be in business anymore. But yeah what can I say, i m only a consumer who doesn't get the simple customer support because that is bugged for my account as well, or done intentionally, who knows.

Freezing and Stuttering on the other hand is a performance issue, either on your end or the servers end. When it's server side it tends to be the result of the server's processors simply not being able to work fast enough to handle the load, even though the connection between client and server is perfectly fine.
A perfect example of this is how CC used to grind to a halt before they reworked many of the multi-target AoE abilities like Kemocite-Laced Weapons.
I remember this Kemocite thing and the Entity.... And it just kept getting worse and worse and worse as more and more and more players started using the trait.
I been sent info that there are currently 2 things acting up and killing things too quickly...
Space Trait called Hive Defenses and another is Phased Waveform Beacon.
Edit...lest I forget: warp core breach sized torpedo deaths....
So, alexraptor may be on the right track.
And if I am hearing about it...It has spread far and wide by now.

It seemed to have been a lot better the last couple days, but I logged in today and tried Azure Nebula..
The Lag was worse then I have ever seen it, I was bouncing around the map like a ping pong ball. Game is just not really playable right now and I am sure it's not my ISP. Just because it was requested though, here is the info.
ISP: Cox Communications
There is my last speed test, I have plenty of bandwidth:
All other games play fine, the only issue I am having is with STO.
I had a Comcast tech come out and he changed all my fittings, ran some tests and I swapped out my modem. So I know its not on my end lol
I didn't need to do all that at all. I already knew it is on their end.
It is quite apparent it is on their end if everyone around the globe is having the same issue.
You know, Sea....I never have problems Cox in AZ with STO...not even when everyone else was complaining about that Cogent stuff.
I never have either. I have been playing this game for 5 years and never had lag, I can even play smoothly on my laptop tethered to my iPhone (AT&T) without lag. Whatever this is, it's new, and I have never seen it before.
Cox Internet is fantastic, it's definitely not on my end.
3 weeks on still rubberbanding and power tray misfires. Patch didn't do anything to address this issue. Only getting this in this game. In fact I can have the game loaded up in the background and minimise to desktop and log onto youtube or virgintvgo and watch a youtube video with no issues or watch t.v via virgintvgo with no buffering issues. Close I.E so STO is the only thing connected to the internet and get rubberbanding. Go figure

Still seeing the rubber banding. But I did have a day or two where it wasn't flinging me around a map or getting me exploded.
Then a winter storm drifted in with sleet and below-freezing conditions. I had stayed off the game for a couple of days between the last "calm period" and now, and I immediately hit ping spikes when I do.
But I'm thinking weather in my local area is aggravating things. Even my ISP (Verizon) is agreeing with the potential idea that part of my issues might be weather-related.

Might be unrelated but the console patch today has so far stopped 3 times so far.
Other downloads on steam, gog and even the xbone have been fine, although tbh the xbone was more a case of no worse than it normally is.
You know, I was wrong...it is worse sitting on the computer. LOL!
I am going back to bed and Kindle.
