Ultimate Tech Upgrade Bug

Good morning fellow trekkers. I am a new player but last week I encountered a bug that Arc has yet to fix or reply to my bug report, so I am going to share it with you.
I purchased six stacks of lock box keys that resulted in me receiving six of these "Ultimate Tech Upgrade". I also received about sixty 1.5x tech upgrade modifer catalysts.
I decided it would be a good idea to pop three of the upgrades on my Breen Ship Set items from the Cold Case quests, and save one for the fourth piece that will be available again hopefully at winter wonderland in december.
So I clicked upgrade on the first item in the set, added the ultimate upgrade, and thought I'd be clever and use a 1.5x boost catalyst for good measure.
The result? It ate my catalyst and my upgrade with out modifying my item at all! Being a noob, I didn't understand what was taking place and did this a total of five times with no result.
The sixth time, I dropped the catalyst and my item was upgraded properly. I messaged tech support in game and also a gm only to find out that the in game ticket system itself is bugged because my tickets weren't even created or at least they weren't showing as existing when I went to check my ticket status in the menu. I waited about four days and still heard nothing back.
Hence why I am here to spread the word. Maybe I will get lucky and some one from arc games will see this, fix this, and refund me the items, or atleast disable the input of a catalyst when using an ultimate upgrade. Seeing as I dropped about 200$ in two weeks on this game, I feel more than a little entitled to a response. Thanks!

Sorry man, I don't mean to pile on.. but wow.
Why did you use an accelerator on an item that automatically upgrades an item to max? What were you trying to do? hope you could hit a higher mark then XV somehow? The only possible options you had was that you would waste the accelerator or bug the item, there was no other possibility. I just can't wrap my head around why you would do this.
But this isn't the worst part.. after it bugged out and ate your Upgrade Kit and your accelerator you did it five more times? Are you serious? five more times?
Ultimately, it's up to support, but I wouldn't blame them if they refused your request. I am not saying you're making it up, but it sounds like some crazy thing someone would make up to try and get free Ultimate Upgrades.
Just nothing in this post is anything that anyone would ever do. This is really out there man.
None the less, best of luck to you. I don't like your odds on this one, but it never hurts to ask.. maybe they'll help you out.
Either way, this isn't really a bug as you were using an item in a way it wasn't intended.
Just friendly advice would be to check the upgrade path of your item as many upgrade to MKXII for free after which you need to invest in upgrade resources..

I was playing Star Trek online on Aug 22 2019 and I wanted to take advantage of the upgrade weekend, and used the "ultimate tech upgrades" item I received from purchasing the big lock box 3 weeks ago. I had 5 and I wanted to upgrade my warp core. When I used the upgrade nothing happen. I thought maybe there was a lag so press apply upgrade again and nothing happened. I removed the item and tried again and noticed I lost 3 of 5 ultimate tech upgrades I had. Is there anyway to get them back? They cost money and it is a shame that someone who playing has a bug that create a loss which caused the user real world money.
There's absolutely no advantage to using a UT upgrade during upgrade weekend. If there was lag you should have waited instead of initiating another upgrade and then a third.
