It was unfortunate but when I purchased the Starter Pack on a Main Character, that Character instantly received the Pack w/Promotional EXP Boost. If anyone here purchases the Starter Pack do so with the newly created Discovery Era Character. Now I am at a loss of the Promotional EXP boost for that Character because we did not receive a warning that purchase should be made by a newly created Character.
Easy fix with 2 options:
The Easy way....... break out your credit card and buy ZEN to purchase ANOTHER Starter Pack Age of Discovery.....
The hard way.......... break out your pick axe, set a course for the Dilithum Mines at Rurapenthe, and start farming enough Dilithium to trade for ZEN to buy ANOTHER Starter Pack Age of Discovery .........
And........ your good :-)
Isn't this a 1 time purchase only? cause the ship and ground weapons are unlocks... only thing that is 1 time is the inventory slots and at 750 or 1500 zen... your better off just buying the inventory slots directly for 400 zen.
sorry but to me any xp bonus isnt worth a single cent... not like xp is hard to get in this game.
I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!

So I need to buy the pack on the character I want the XP boost on? Well, I want in on a Klingon aligned Jem'Hadar character, and they can't buy the pack. Leveling up new characters is easy and I don't want to waste an XP boost an a new alt. Getting Spec points on the other hand, every little bit helps.
Making this thing account bound would have seemed obvious, which is probably why Cryptic didn't do it.
Hello. My name is iamynaught and I am an altaholic.
1st claims and bound to purchaser is a bit different. I can buy but not claim and then switch to different toon to claim.
Yeah, that's how I thought it'd work. Buy it, and then there'd be a pack in the promotions area to "claim" on the character who I was going to give the 12 inv slots/etc.
That doesn't say they will be automatically be claimed on the character that purchases the pack. All the big expacks have contained once-only items and they have always been separate claims you could pick up with a character of choice. I had assumed this would work the same way and no doubt others have as well.
Although to be honest the only toon I'd want more inventory slots on is maxed out and the XP pool is, as someone already mentioned, not worth a cent.
I think that stuff is a one time only. So only option is to send a politely worded message to support and hope they are willing to fix it. (Hence the polite part, politeness is more likely to get you what you want here.)
Logic is the beginning of wisdom, not the end of it.
By the way, has anyone confirmed what content, if any, of the pack works on other factions? Is the ship claimable by fedroms and fed'hadar? Who can claim the weapons? The pet?
oh man so you can only buy this pack on a fed toon? all my toons are already 65 no reason to start a new fed toon since there is no recruit event... and this pack is not worth it to me, 1 ship that is at max T4 which I will never use.
Okay, I won't get this pack I guess. I switched to a Fed aligned Jem and they can't buy it either. It's only for Fed characters, not Fed aligned, I guess.
I mean, it makes sense, but I can't be the only one who doesn't want to waste the inventory slots or XP boost. I want the slots on one character, the XP boost on another.
Cryptic, please realize that some folks may want some items on one character, and other items on another. Making this an all or nothing deal means I won't bother with it. Even though it's a great price and I'm really interested in the ship and ground weapons, it's just too much of a pain for me to bother.
This reminds me so much of the poorly coded Elite Starter pack that I still cannot buy.

And I could not buy it with the Discovery Recruit even after finishing the Tutorial (I was at the Corodan Mine Mission). To boot it says in the Store Description that the Ship could not be claimed on a Character until they were at Level 10.
They could have made the Titles, Pet, Weapons and Ship claimable by each Character on the Account and Inventory Slots and XP claimable ONCE.

I missed that blog, still at a loss either way.

Ah, well. My main can always use more inv.

Restrictions like that should be shown at point of sale so if it's missing then report the hell out of it.
For big packs the one-time-claim items like tech upgrades were NOT instantly awarded and bound to the character active when I made the purchase.
I'd put in a ticket with support.
