They are doing an over-haul, and Fleet T6 ships, via Fleet modules from the T6 Rep projects, can be acquired.

You're missing the point it won't get people to play elite PvE Queues without a overhaul of the rewards system.
Are you saying that we should get lockbox ships as elite PvE rewards? That's literally never going to happen. I'd very much enjoy if they introduced more meaningful rewards to them, but let's be realistic here, shall we?
Alternative hypothesis, based on my own experience: I literally don't need anything else. No matter how much they might enrich the rewards, I simply don't need any of it--not even to sell. The only thing that would entice me into those queues is dilithium or Zen outright. Long-time players have already been there, done that, got the T-shirt, got mustard on the T-shirt, and bleached out the stain.
How to make people play any queues is to actually put some loot worth using on your ship on the table. This is the only mmo i ever played where i stopped picking up loot unless i need salvage stuff. There is nothing worth picking up. There should a be a thread dedicate to the loot system in this game, as far as i m concerned there is none.
C-Store Inc. is still looking for active members on the fed side. If you don't have a fleet feel free to contact me in game @stegi.
I see Cryptic removing Salvaged Tech from the Admiralty System long before that is going to happen.
I don't think it would matter a damn what they removed or added Salvaged Tech to. They blew their chance to make that stuff useful again when they made a completely NEW salvage currency instead of giving a purpose to the one we already had. Now it's just a single-purpose item whose purpose has been rendered obsolete, like Strange Alien Artifacts.
Yeah. What even needs Salvaged Tech to craft? The omnibeams? 99% of stuff is best crafted at mk2 then upgraded, which only takes white materials.

I haven't missed the point at all. The Random TFO's are awarding above and beyond that of the original reward, which you also get. What you're asking for is too much. A ship for completing an Elite STF is completely and utterly unreasonable. Instead what the Dev's have done is allowing players to acquire Fleet Ship Modules via the T6 reps, for putting towards a Fleet T6, which is quite reasonable, and incentive enough to hit the queues.

They used to, but some players complained because the then 'collect salvaged tech' to make Borg Rep equipment was 'too RNG' for them. Equipment like that was extremely rare and considered something of a true accomplishment, now the same stuff can be gained for almost minimal effort and no risk.

Except I have an Eternal and don’t want new ships for anything but admiralty, and I’m not buying slots to keep them.
While I'd LOVE to get free ships for completing advanced and elite queues, I also understand that this game is supported by the C-store and Locked box. Giving away the most desirable things from either of those sources isn't going to help the game in the long term. I play what I enjoy. Sometimes it's elite content, sometimes I just want to pew-pew trash mobs for fleet marks. I'm not going to stop playing the things I enjoy for ANY rewards.
Why not use rewards similar to the summer and winter events? Earn tokens for various single purchase items. Just like getting ships, marks, or costumes from the seasonal event. Not hit the rep store. Unique visual items.
I know borg stuff gave maco/khg stuff. But if you are revamping the system to get people into new queues then maybe a bit more on the unique flavor items. so the grind isn't for the same things everyone already has. I mean how many people would work to unlock mirror universe skins for their ships?

So what incentive is that?
Incentive is that they are technically free Tier 6 Fleet ships. I can't believe you would refuse a 'free' Fleet T6 that you haven't yet got. OP's suggestion is just not economical for the game or Cryptic. At least via the Fleet Module Projects, you've (in most cases) worked for it. Expecting a T6 for doing an Elite queue is just one example of the 'I want more for less effort' attitude of some players.

They are never going to give out a ship for completing an Elite STF.
They COULD, though, bring back a bit of the old RNG drop for a unique piece of loot, like they had pre Rep.
So say you're running Counterpoint Elite. Chance drop: Terran Empire Quantum Torpedo. Insert interesting stats here.
Now... run something like Hive Onslaught Elite. Chance Drop: Assimilated Plasma Beam Array.
Run Azure Nebula Rescue Elite. Chance Drop: Tholian Thermionic Torpedo.
Not Bind on Pickup, so people can sell 'em. BUT not tied to any reps. You want that item, run the STF it can drop from. And maybe add something to the Salvage Tech, allowing you to trade a set amount for an item as well if the Random Number Gods absolutely HATE you. But at the same time make it so its not an absolute cakewalk to get it. So... 15-20 or so maybe? 10 on the low end. Make it feel like you earned it either way.

I am not sure that is what he is saying though...
I think he has an idea in his head: "give players something they want so they will play"
And for him it is: Fancy ships he can not afford to get. Which is why he said it.
Because to him THAT is what every one else would want, too.
I am trying get him to think about what to do for players that already have that stuff?
And to take it further, he needs to think about: do players want to play these Elite STFs with other players who "want fancy ships". OR do players want to do these Elite STFs with people who "already own and use fancy ships"?
And what the differences are between those two types of players and capabilities of gaining that prize.

Make those Elite STFs complicated and challenging. Sure...go ahead and play them, clown around if you want. Be our guest. Try us. You think you can beat our game???
But no one without a clue about teams and without gear should be able to get done with them. Make that a POINT....stick to your guns. TELL EVERYONE...this is our challenge to you. YOU ain't got game??? You are trying to pug this TRIBBLE??? Get your team together. Bring the best gear you got. Or you players will never get done.
It gives people something to aspire to: both in TEAM play and gear.
WHEN someone DOES get through them.... announced in notifications in the game as champion of such and such STF (because really, who gives a rat's tookus who got a ship from a box?) These types of players already HAVE everything they need they don't need prizes...they want acknowledgement.
PLUS put their names up on a Leaderboard. Gives everyone else a reason to knock them off of there. Or move up in ranking.
I mean, that is why we had those scoreboards in pinball machines...I wanted my initials to remain on top as a point of pride. Always checking to see "is that my score still up there"??? They need to bring that element in here. Even if it is only for Elite STFs.

I have a question: How do you get players, who already own all these ships to want to play the Elite queues?
By making the rewards something new that they don't already have.
Where ? cause R&D Materials shouldn't be considered as new rewards for the Elite PvE Queues, now for the standard PvE Queues I agree with your comment but for Elite and Advanced Task Force Operations their needs to be better rewards than R&D Materials.

Now you understand my Star Trek online experience dilemma some of those items are useless in-game, the Task Force Operations should've been for Very Rare to Epic items players can only attain by doing Task Force Missions.

I agree with everything you just said rattler2 but I still think there should be a way to attain an Ultra Rare Ship that players can build by finding R&D components that can only be retrieved on Task Force Operations like Kelvin timeline or Terran Empire Dreadnought starships you can also sell on the Exchange.

I see Cryptic removing Salvaged Tech from the Admiralty System long before that is going to happen.
They give them to you via Dilithium and EC.
If you so choose to use those in-game currency in that way.
And 3x a year via repeating a task.
And all it takes is time.
