I'm pretty sure that all pistols have a holster.

Definitely not. You may have a belt on your costume which might make it look like the weapon is attached to somethimg, but it actually just floats very closely in front of your back or at the hip.

@dvonluck are these the reputation weapons? Could you provide a screenshot?

I know the ones we're talking about; yes, they're from the Gamma Task Force reputation's dilithium store. I'll log in now and take a screenshot to post, if nobody beats me to it.

ETA: Here we go. Here's the holster with the pistol in it:

And here's one with the weapon drawn, just to show off the pistol model. The holster remains in place.

Yeah, the holsters is a neat thing to see, but are really big on smaller toons.

I'd say we have about as much chance of a holster for our weapons as we do of getting a pistol version of the cosmetic D'k tahg for Federation, Romulan and Dominion characters.

None have. It's a new thing exclusive to the gamma rep weapon.

It's be nice if the elite fleet phasers got that effect. One thing ENT and DS9 did right was having holsters for phasers instead of having them sellotaped to the belt or waistline of the character.

Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though.
JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

A back holster (sheathe?) would be nice for bigger guns too, maybe? Of course, going back and redoing all weapons w/ holsters is very far down the list of things Cryptic should be putting effort into, imo.

Holsters should be a tailor option, not a magic item that only shows up when you have a specific weapon in hand.

That would require them to make holsters that fit EVERY weapon in the game. Rather difficult task. Honestly just making them as part of the weapon model like they did with the Inhibiting Polaron pistols would be a better option for the database, as well as us Costume Fiends as it would mean not having any clipping with a holstered weapon. I mean just look at the difference between a mk 2 Disruptor Pistol and a mk 12. In order to fit them ALL, you'd need at least 6 different variants of EACH holster for EACH damage type that has variants. THEN we gotta consider all the non standard damage type weapons like the lockbox guns and Lobi guns. Oh and any special Mission Reward guns. Because a standard Polaron pistol holster is not going to fit a Vaadwaur Polaron pistol or the Romulan Operative Polaron Pistol.

They're going to have to make holsters for every weapon anyway, if every weapon is to have a holster.

I would much rather have the option of choosing a holster myself, and then have it there permanently, than having one I can't control pop up when I have a specific weapon in hand and then disappear when I switch. And while we're at it, put in holsters with the weapons in them, too. So I can have a sidearm on my costume even when using different weapons.

Although I suppose having an extra option to show an auto-holster for a weapon, in addition to a tailor option, could be a possibility.

Theres no need to make holsters... I'd be happy with a back and hip mag plate (maybe like spinal armor with a switch/battery cell component) that explains why the weapon is sticking to their side/back

I prefer that, just slap it on my hip or belt, easy peasy. Holsters, shmolsters :)
