Gamma Rep set or Morphogenic?

I'm just about to complete the Gamma set on my carrier and am not sure which way to go. Has anyone compared the two that can say which is better or at least the pros and cons between the two?

    Which carrier?

Anyway, there is no "best" since one set is generalist and the other a specialist.

Let's start with the generalist w.i. the Morphogenic set: https://sto.gamepedia.com/Morphogenic_Armaments
As you can see it is a basic set with an energy torpedo (90 degree arc), omni weapon and console. The oddity for this set is that the console has a bonus against foes in your rear arc. If you want to use this set then it is probably best applied when fighting HurQ (whom like to attack your rear end) or when you're flying a brick with almost no turn rate whatsoever.

The specialist is the https://sto.gamepedia.com/Task_Force_Ordinances gamma reputation set. Torpedo, omni weapon and mine launcher. Everything is geared towards mine layer tactics and opponents whom target your rear arc.
On escorts and science vessels this set is probably best avoided.

There are some other sets which use polaron and which deserve a mention:
    - Chronometric Calculations : https://sto.gamepedia.com/Chronometric_Calculations_Set
This set can be earned by playing Time and Tide: https://sto.gamepedia.com/Mission:_Time_and_Tide
This is a nice set for science builds.

Next in line is Delta Alliance Ordnance: https://sto.gamepedia.com/Delta_Alliance_Ordnance
This set is available from the delta reputation and features a hard hitting Isokinetic Cannon.
Best used on science heavy builds since the IKC is boosted by PartGen.

Last in line, unless i have overlooked something, is https://sto.gamepedia.com/Lukari_Restoration_Initiative_Armaments
This set is available from the Lukari reputation and has a focus on healing.

So it's really your choice which direction to take since there is no "best" set, but only situational sets.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

I agree with questarius, What's best for him may not be best for you. That's where you experiment and find out what works best for you and what your idea of what you want your ship to do.
Now a LTS and loving it.
Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything. :D

Thank you for that feedback. If it helps, I am flying the Jem'Hadar carrier and already running a full Iconian set. I like to stay as close to canon as possible, so I am trying to decide on which of these polaron oriented sets would work best for me.

Considering the Morphogenic is a FREE set... nothing stopping you from experimenting.

another thing to be aware of: unless they changed things you can only use the Omni from ONE of the sets
