Finally, got another Flying High in this morning. Admiralty makes my DOFFing boring.
I wasn't noticing anything different between Advanced and Normal. Except the need to do repairs...and that is totally wonky. I kept having the same injury when I signed back in the character....there is one sure way to get the program to quit recognizing injuries. Go back to normal.
And I really need to get back on Risa...before it is time to make lunches.

Only have one more ship to fly for. My grandson will have his on Tuesday if I don't miss a day. And I shouldn't miss any days. Jhanell has gotten her full mastery in the ship and I may let her fly it for awhile since she has very few ships and only a couple T6s.
It's not a bad ship to fly, especially for a freebie. Though the best freebie of them all is the Nandi, IMO.

Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything.
Yeah, I had my Ferengi in the Nandi....but I got the token (I can't remember Infinity Box??? or Phoenix Box???) and ended up getting her the D'Kora, which I really, really don't like. What a frickin' shame. LOL!

To tell you the truth...I haven't been wowed one way or another with any ships since that Anniversary Kamarag I got on my Engineer, a way long time ago. I hesitate to spend money on ships at all...knowing nothing really inspires me with that part of the game.

You're right there. Every ship I've tried, whether bought or grinded for, have not wowed me. All of them kill things and the only ones I try to stay away from are escorts/raiders. I'll go with a destroyer, but that's it. I really like whales, unlike a lot of people. But that's okay. I'll fly mine, you fly yours. *Chuckle*
Might be why I like this one. It's a whale.

I've wanted a big tactical dreadnought on Fed for a while now but all we have are engineering based dreadnoughts like the Galaxy X and Miracle Worker ships if they can be considered dreadnoughts.

Dreadnoughts are cruiser-based, so will most likely always be engi-based as well, though they can probably have a secondary tac/sci base too. I know they do that with warships, since the Nandi is sci-heavy as well as tac-based.
Would be nice to get Dreads like that too.

These impulsive speed floaters are still taking me for a loop. Flying high is just bad and I am over flying the horga'hn locations. I don't know whether to buy them for more characters to force me to practice or replace the ones I already have with superiors.

I got one for my F2P and it did take some adjusting to learn its limitations. I've gotten to where I can judge when to let off the controls during the hunt. Also, sometimes hitting the 'back' button (D) will sometimes slow you down. Flying Highs were a bit easier since you just needed to be 'close enough' to the gates to trigger them and not always on the track.

Well, I decided to equip more characters with impulsive speed floaters. Though, the hunts are more stressful...I figure eventually it will "click on". Right? LOL!

Yeah, it's really annoying. The mods are trying to sweep these issues under the rug by merging my thread. I don't appreciate being effectively silenced this way. Didn't even get a message telling me my thread was merged, let alone why it was merged.
Dude, let it go.
Mods are busy with the ST:D threads....ain't got no time to chit chat.
They have their own way to effectively "silence" ya, and it has nothing to do with merging.
So, swallow the chill pill.

Yeah, more practice will help a lot. Took me a few tries to realize I had to lay off the W button much sooner than I would with the Superior floater. They drift a looong ways when you let off the 'gas' lol.

They, also, drop faster when you let "off the gas", too...so it is a P.I.T.A. to finesse it. Especially, to hit those horga'hn.
I am thinking they MADE these for the races.

It's possible that they made them for the races. Jhanell has a better time catching up to the others with her Impulsive floater, though she still only manages Finish for most of them.
Still, I've ran so many horga'hn hunts while I was flying high that I've learned to time the horga'hn stops pretty good. I try to come in above them a bit anyway, to compensate for the drop. I manage to get her, Miko and Gamata through an entire hunt with plenty of time to spare even though the other two just have the Enhanced floaters.

Well, after spending most of the afternoon messing with this.... I notice I have a problem with reacting in time when my characters are moving that fast.
Especially noticeable when doing "Spiral the Tower" thing in Flying High. You know, when you come out from behind the trees and you have to turn and go up for the next gate??? LOL! It's gone past before I can react! LOL!
I know I am gettin' old but DANG! Really?
Edit: You know, I am having issues this year with the transition from the Power Board to Floater on the Biathlon, too....where as last year I was not. On characters with the same gear as last year.

On a more positive note:
My newest character (the Jem'Hadar) got her "In a Geological Sense...." accolade today! All of the older characters, who have been working on this for longer, are still two artifacts from being done!

That's great! I don't think any of mine have that accolade yet, though I didn't really work very hard at getting them. I'll get it when I get it, is how I look at it.
On another note, I took a combat log on Jacob (main, Lifer acct) just a few minutes ago when I took him into Japori on Advanced with this new ship. Between him and his pets, he did around 20k DPS and cleared the area in 4 minutes flat. So I guess if I wanted to do advanced content I could. But I still prefer to fly around in Normal difficulty LOL.

Finished the ship grind over the weekend. Ran off Risa as fast as I could with the admiralty card. Oh well, maybe an actual Risian ship next year and more fun events instead of buggy races that never seem to work for me.

I am at 920 tokens. 2 more days.
But I am staying on Risa until it is over in August, sometime.
And gosh ding it!!! I am gonna get this impulsive speed floater under control.
And finish "In a Geological Sense...." on more characters.

Wow, you have a combat log. 4 mins....is that better than normal? I forgot, are you using any mines?

On Normal I can clear Japori probably in about three mins or so. I was just curious as to what Jacob could do on advanced. I think it was pretty good. I don't do combat logs all the time, just when I'm curious.
He's using the web mine from the Nukara Rep set, as well as the console and weapon from that set. Now and then one of them will snag a foe, so I keep them for the set bonuses. Jhanell has a Thoron-Infused Quantum mine on hers. What I like about this ship is that I can put a mine on it, in addition to some omnis, beam arrays and a torpedo. No I don't do major DPS, but I kill things and survive and have fun. That's all that matters to me, not what others say I should or shouldn't be doing. Do I listen to advice? Of course I do, I'm not rude. But I can't always implement it. As long as my ships kill things and do their part in group content, I'm happy.
