Can we pretty please have a few more details on the rewards? What's the gold Jem'hadar DOFF do? What do the "Improved" versions of those specialization traits look like?
I think among us very long term players, this could be incredibly helpful information!
Warfare specialist DOFF normally gives bonus damage for ship against one enemy race/faction. This one is epic, so maybe it will be bonus space AND ground damage against all enemies?
Edit:
Besides, lets just wait 1 day and we will know for sure… i think.
What I'd like to know is when the heck you guys are gonna offer the lifetime subscription sale again. I finally managed to save up enough cash in my Steam wallet to buy it at the sale price, and have been waiting for what feels like FOREVER for it to happen again.
Reach Level 4 in any six Duty Officer Commendation Categories:
Nope nope nope. You couldn't pay me to do that again, I couldn't care less what the reward is
and keep watching between now and the launch on June 5th for additional information on the exciting content waiting to be discovered in Star Trek Online with the release of “Victory is Life.”
Uh....What? Between now and june 5th? Thats tomorrow, how many blogs could they possibly be posting in the next 24 hours?

I feel much the same way about the DOff'ing part. I was able to do that for my Delta but great googly moogly was that a slog. Eventually I'd probably get to lvl 4 in 6 of the DOff categories but trying to get it ASAP? Not gonna happen.
As for how many blogs could they publish between now and tomorrow? Well, the actual posting process can't take too much time, so if they have them prepared and ready to go, potentially thousands.
However, considering they have give us quite a bit of info already and I can't see much else to release, my guess would be 2-3 more.
They might even start spilling the beans about the Summer Event today, since it might go live in the next week or two. I know it was said it won't start this week and that it has been "pushed back a bit", but I figure if we don't hear something about the summer event this week, it may not start until closer to the end of the month.
Which is okay by me. Get the (likely) buggy expansion out the door, shore up the overgrown jungle of code and THEN let us relax on Risa. Hopefully in a couple of weeks things will be flying high and the bugs will be water under the bridge.

You're out of luck dude. First, the lifetime sub was never for sale on steam, the only thing they had there was the steam pack, with the steamrunner starship. Lifetime sub, like the packs, was only available on the website, and second, lifetime subscriptions are no longer available. Like, at all. Sorry.

Umm, Lifetime subs are still available, regular monthly subs are the ones that went away. But yeah, you can't buy the LTS from the Zen Store or off Steam, you need to buy it directly from Cryptic/ARC.
And I forgot to ask in my first post but, are we getting a free character slot with this recruitment event? We have in the past but things change so I want to be clear on that subject.
Also, if there is indeed a free slot given out, will those of us who are at the max number of characters get it? Since I am one of those players, I'd REALLY like a definitive answer to that question.

False. Its subscriptions that are no longer available, you can still very much buy a lifetime. They were very clear on the fact that wasn't going to be removed
Recruited event that requires a massive amount of time NOT ACTUALLY PLAYING due to the offline timesinky nature of doff and shipdoff.
Two different recruitment events so far and cherry picked the worst options right there. Gaining spec points at least requires someone to be actively playing the game for more than a few minutes a day.

Not really, as Admiralty rewards can give out quite a bit of XP and that's not counting the 2 spec points you get for finishing the 10/10 Tour of Duty in the Fed Admiralty. It may not be as fast as actually playing, definitely not as fun (to me) but progress can be made.
Hello. My name is iamynaught and I am an altaholic.
While the DOFF mission is rather… long (not hard, just long - I may actually buy some roster expansions - it really help, if there is 300 DOFFs or so ready for assignments), the reward looks nice - epic warfare DOFF (as epic, it may actually boost straight all damage - ground and space, against all enemies - if so, it will be worth it).
The spec points… well… i saved more than 20 featured episode weekly rewards, and some 1/4 spec points from endavour, plus the admirality will be serious help there.
Yeah, 4/6 doffing seems like a breeze compared to 90 Spec points. (spec points was the last part I completed in the Delta Recruit rewards, doffing & admiralty had been finished long before.)
edit: Engineering, Military, Medical, Science, Espionage all have common high-point assignments. For some, you'll need gamma quadrant commodities. And being able to pass over a bunch of extra green/blue DOFFs from your alts will help, too.
But, hmm. They're really trying to encourage me to make an ugly character, aren't they? (the ever-running conflict: desire to do new released content vs. the desire to not make any ugly rubber-forehead alien characters. My KDF characters are Orions, my Roms are Roms, my Feds are Human/Betazoid/Trill/Vulcan/Bajoran. Yes, I'm shallow.)
It actually helps if there is many Very Rare DOFFs in roster, and you can risk the harder assignments with high casuality possibility… and got some critical successes...
It isn't too hard to load up 20 DOff assignments pretty quickly. I think that my Temporal Agent had that done within a few weeks of starting on them. Admiralty doesn't even require the travel time that DOffing does, so that's only really limited by the xp cap per campaign per day and the number of assignment slots that you start with. It was racking up spec points that took the longest on the Temporal Agent, and I suspect it will be the same here. I think I finished that set in January or February of last year, so roughly 5.5 to 6 months.
This is an MMO, not a Star Trek episode simulator. That would make for a terrible game.

I still haven't finished the DOFF part of the AoY event. In fact, my 8 year old main still hasn't reached Tier 4 in all the commendations. DOFFing is literally the worst grind. I like doffing, but it takes longer than anything else in the game.
Unfortunately, Dominion characters don't come with a full compliment of DOFFs (last I tested), so you still have to get them first.

Spec points are far easier than DOFFing. One thing I do is save every single Featured episode reward in my account bank for things like this. When AoY went live, I had over 30, and was able to near instantly get that unlock. Right now I have nearly 30 as well. Admiralty also gets you a skill point nearly every day per faction if you just stay within the XP limit.

Also came here to say that. Lifetime subs have not changed, and there are no plans to change it. I don't play STO on Steam, so I can't vouch for what is or isn't purchasable on there, but I do know that LTS is iirc the only thing you can't get in the C-store. Even the packs for the expansions you can get there (Temporal, Delta Vanguard, Gamma Vanguard, etc..).

After all there is a lot less gap closing when you start with purple mark 12 gear as opposed to white mark 1 gear.

Er, that will be the slog of all slogs...reduce it by 3? Better yet, remove that part.

I still have original Deltas that haven't finished all of those.

> Do you guys realize how quickly Admiralty and doffing can be done?
Please explain your speedy doffing techniques, because I'd genuinely like to know.
Me too. And without using those lockbox DOff assignment ones. Just plain old vanilla DOff'ing is major time sink.

Getting 6 commendations maxed out is easy, just takes a little bit of time. Getting the 90 Spec points will be the harder thing to do.
