I've played earlier today, about an hour or two ago. But when I tried to restart the game to continue on, the Arc page comes up ok, but then I get a pop up saying 'Install'.

Kind of dreading having to spend at least two hours reinstalling the STO launcher. Esp. with the Jr. Recruit weekend and having some new Delta Recruits to work through the Egg Run, I mean Academy Particle Run, re-install kind of eats into the time.

If there was a problem with needing to force verify, I can't even get into the launcher through the Arc. I'll see if the launcher through Steam is having the same issue.

Edit: The launcher via Steam works. Arc, what's wrong?

Edit 2: The Arc launcher for STO installed, now it's downloading the 16 GB for the game. *Sigh*

arc and steam do not share the same folders. one has -en at the end. steam, i think

After the reinstall of the Arc launcher (and game) I launched the game and it did the scan for graphic, and what came of it was well, not optimum.

So I looked at the GeForce Experience, and noticed a new driver was available. AmbassadorKael warned about having to update video drivers with the April update to Win 10, but I'd updated the driver after the last update.

Which makes me wonder if Win 10 users will have to keep an eye out for video card updates before playing the game....

Now I'm busy trying out different display settings. I saw the need to update the driver after the game did the vid card scan.

While it's nice that it automatically checks the video card and all that when the game is (re)installed, but it'd be better with the ability to recheck after video card updates/getting a new video card.

Edit: I was having a problem with trying out the different display settings (on some of the settings, the cursor couldn't move past an invisible box depending on the settings), so I exited the game and returned with the Steam launcher, so I could see what the settings were so I could replicate them manually on the game through Arc.

When I returned to the Arc launched game, the setting had switched on it's own to the same settings as the Steam version. (Thank goodness that it didn't bring over the bad settings that Arc had to the Steam version instead of the other way around )

There is no 'Steam' version or 'Arc' version of STO. That is a myth. They both use the same launcher, and that launcher has a 'Steam' Driver in it, whether you use Steam or not.

If ever you're having graphical issues, it's usually best to start the game up in 'Safe Mode' and set your own preferences (as this erases all the current settings). Sometimes settings can be corrupted by OS and Driver Updates, as per recently, so 'Safe Mode' is the best bet to spot issues.

Steam and Arc don't necessarily install the game to the same location, if you are using both you might have two copies of the game on your system. I'd suggest using one or the other.

Yeah I am getting that error too. They pushed an update to the launcher and broke it I think.

Loaded the steam version and it did the same thing, but reinstalling that one actually worked.

This why you don't use Arc or Steam ^^. Arc has a history of somehow 'losing' installations. When that happens run the Arc repair tool.
